Sometimes I hear things and see things that aren't there but it's only for a short time, like 4 seconds max. I'll see someone staring at me around a corner or just someone watching me when I look around but they disappear when I look back. Thoughts?

Yeah my friend in college got a random roommate from Nigeria. The guy was pretty weird and had no understanding of social norms. We thought it was a combination of him being weird and from a different culture. He got much worse over time. He tried to stab his own dad. Later he somehow remembered where my friend lived and visited that friend's family. He gave a full story of his life from the past 3 years. The family was in full "WTF" mode and just consoled him and called his family.

Before we knew all of this, he saw me walking down the road at the apartment complex he pulled over and asked me to get in the car to help him move a mattress or something. At first my thought was this was sketchy and I told him I was heading somewhere and was late. He raised his voice and said it would only take a minute and said get in. Looking back on that I think I narrowly avoided a severe confrontation with him. After then I forbid my friend whom I was living with from ever contacting the schitzo again and especially from giving any personal info to him.

Basically we got the nut job out of our lives when the lease ended and moved to a larger apartment. There have been two people in my life I've been scared might want to kill me. He was certainly #1.

Lesson of the story: Get the certified crazy people out of your life. I know abandoning them isn't good for their mental health especially considering they don't understand the reality of "why".

I once woke up to her talking to the FBI on the phone. She was talking about a non-existent van outside of her apartment, and that they were trying to steal secrets from a school project she was working on -- needless to say, she had gone off her meds.

Girl #2: She was pretty much the same, only her hallucinations involved religious things (angels and demons and stuff). She also was also much more aggressive. Yeah, when I visited her in the psych ward, she showed me some drawings of them and they looked like regular people.

Looking back, I can't believe I didn't see the warning signs. She was always eccentric and used drugs, so I chalked up her erratic behavior to too many drugs and a slightly atypical eccentricity.

The first things I remember raising some red flags were when she started telling me about her neighbors spying and plotting against her. And then I pretty much knew what she was dealing with when she kept asking me if I heard certain things.

My uncle is schizophrenic - due to his medical facility he also has contact with some other schizos. As far as i've understood it's really rare that the person actually 'sees' another person or 'hears the voice'. It's more like getting thoughts that don't seem to come from yourself and the only way to deal with this is to distance yourself from them. Some give these names and even a personality, but it's really not as flashy as in the movies.

Mild levels of this shit are easy to encounter... My first girlfriend would always turn around in the street and "catch" people laughing at her, or us... No efforts were sufficient to make her understand that she was just convincing herself of such things. She'd sometimes swear she'd heard people who were half a block away talking about her negatively. This was just a very bad case of low self esteem and insecurities.

Worst thing I've heard is about a friend's patient (dude's been a psychologist for a few years and some of his practice in an asylum), who would see "shade people" walking around the ceilings, crawling up and down walls and crouching in corners, just staring at her. My friend said that working with this girl was a nightmare because she'd always tell you there was something staring at her.

My brother was schizophrenic. he wouldn't go into detail with me about the voices but they would tell him to kill himself and he would take really long showers and they would make him throw himself against the wall and I would hear him crying it was pretty devastating. I mean as often as I was told I was "making it up" i kinda started to believe it was some sort of manifestation of the horrible parts of my mind. Often I'd be having conversation with a girlfriend or something and I wouldn't hear their voice, instead I'd hear one of the other voices telling me to strike her or force myself upon her. Other times I'd be in class and just hear nothing but the same voice coming from everybody in the room that was talking, but they'd scream over one another and such.

Then i realised i'm not important enough to warrant even an hour of observation and my insignificance is a liberation.
Started sleeping and eating regular, dropped the pot completely. Worked out over the years that people do talk shit about you in public, especially if you have a 2 ft mohawk, but they aren't really hostile, just passing comment.

well like I said this is all stuff that happened before I reached the age of 18. I havent had any episodes even remotely similar in almost 10 years, aside from being asleep and waking up to make food without actually "waking up" until im half way through whatever food Im eating lol.

My mother is a psychiatrist, and, though she couldn't tell me very much due to confidentiality and shit, she had a guy who was brought in after being arrested for shooting arrows at kids out on the sidewalk. They had made fun of him before.

Guy was a full blown schizo. He was clutching this book filled with nothing but scribbles that he called "The bible" and talked about how his attic was his "Biblatory", where God told him how to make new things, mostly new arrowheads. Apparently he could read and comprehend the scribbles in "The Bible" as words and sentences too, but she couldn't tell me what it said for aforementioned reasons.

My aunt suffers from schizophrenia. I myself don't have any noticeable mental disorder as far as I can tell.

I do however get these weird thoughts at times, like really inappropriate thoughts when interacting with a woman, or really aggressive thoughts with people in general that I would, of course, never carry on. I have never acted on these thoughts, but it does seem really strange that my mind puts them there in the first place.

That's actually comforting. I had never discussed this with anyone because it doesn't really drive my behavior and was a little more worried people would see me differently if I spoke my mind.

Just to elaborate a bit on the thoughts (to check if they're really "normal"), sometimes when I'm with friends who have little kids, I would be talking to my friends and suddenly a thought pops into my head and I start picturing what would happen if I were to hurt/kill their children in front of them. This makes me cringe.

Now, I'm talking about close friends who I love and appreciate and have nothing against, and their children who I also love with all my heart and would protect with my life.

That was just an example off the top of my head, I don't go around picturing how it would be to murder everyone's children.

Again, I can't really explain it. It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does happen it really makes me wonder if there's something wrong with me.

My Grandfather is schizophrenic, it's the weirdest thing to try and explain simply to someone who has never lived with someone like that. They ask me if he's crazy and I to simply put it yes and no. It differs in somepeople but the big thing is a false perception of what is real along with hallucinations. My grandfather is very religious and most of his hallucinations revolve around demons and spirits. As a child he would tell me to come inside because he could sense a demon near by, or tell behave because Jesus was visiting him, he also reserved a chair in the living room for spirits to sit in and watch TV with him. So yeah that was weird having to live with someone like that. He would also shout at the demons trying to get them to leave his house. It truly makes me sad thinking about it now because I know he genuinely believed he was trying to protect us. The only real positive side to it was hes got theverything best old man stories because they are totally made up but he thinks he really did fly a jet in Vietnam along with being a combat medic and is about to go to Italy to serve the pope. Every time I see him he tells me another crazy story and it makes me sad and happy at the same time.

Okay so I don't think it's schizo but since I was about four or five I've seen and hear and even spoken to a girl in both my dreams and more and more frequently outside of dreams. It's hard to explain properly but basically it feels like this girl has been following me for over a decade now, close to two. She claims to be a demon, wants to live in our world. Says she's harmless but then at other times will get incredibly violent and angry.
I'm unsure of what exactly it wants or what it even is, but I know it's occurred outside of dreams before, and more and more often I hear her, see her in corners of rooms, or behind things. Or behind me in mirrors or reflective objects.
One dream was insanely realistic, I felt perfectly awake, except everything in my bedroom was flying around like a tornado, and I was floating in the center. Just before the dream ends I find myself in front of the mirror, looking at myself. My eyes begin to bleed and next thing I know I'm looking at her bloody face, pitch black eyes staring at me.
She's good for talking to when bored.
And yes, we fully converse. I've debated for years seeing a psychiatrist or something.
But I don't like telling people about her, I feel as if they will react badly and she certainly dislikes when I try

One time our family went travelling for a couple weeks to another state and after like 3 days she found something in the bible that convinced her to throw away her medication. Drug induced psychosis about 10 years ago, thought I had telekinesis, and that people could hear my thoughts. Had a lot of odd coincidences and timings or certain things that would set me off, further pushing me to think I was psychic. I admitted myself but only stayed for a night. One night I thought I had a radio station talking to me, asking me my personal details and then told me to go outside, there was a helicopter with a search light in the area but not focused on me. I hid under my bed out of all places and heard someone in my backyard then they were peering through my window, scared me straight. Except for my sleeping patterns, get night terrors quite a bit and it always tends to be someone outside my window chanting or knocking along with an invisible force holding me down without the ability to speak. The mind is a wonderful thing.

If you're weak emotionally, there's a risk of you being possessed by negative psychological entities.

Basically they are easily ignored by most, but in your weak states you may think that those thoughts or voices belong to you or is a part of you.

There are positive entities too, religion aside. I think you know what I'm hinting at.

I notice when I smoke weed if I'm chill I'll have a relax high, but moment I smoke too much or start having bad thoughts the voices start happening,

I guess that settles it then it's anxiety that produces this cuz I never feel anxitey at moms.

There are times when I can clearly hear what there saying guess im not used to living in apartments( or ours walls are fucked) I think if his apartment backyard actually faced the lake(you would have to actually walk in cuz the current one is litteraly a public walkway)

Pretty sure my gfs dad is. He's native American but legit believes in his native spirituality. Most treat it like going to church but he BELIEVES there's a little man in his chest. I remember a few years ago he watched the Netflix movie the brass teapot and he really believed such object existed. The brass teapot is a comedy where a couple find a teapot and if they hurt themselves hard enough the teapot will reward you with money. He's also very poor and abandoned his family in 2015. Good riddance I say I have a two year old daughter now and having him around would be stressful. He's on meth now apparently and lives in Wyoming. Truly an insane individual.
