Job 'secrets' thread?

Can we have one of those threads where we ask & tell about little job secrets - not boring NSA leak type stuff, but really interesting things, like why Subway doesn't tessellate triangular cheese?
>>
Bank tellers, do you get to see how much money everyone has?
>>

phone/device repair guy here.

We don't need your passcode to repair a broken screen. We can test it out fine while it's locked.

The only reason I ask for your passcode is to browse for nudes.

Pizza people, what is the delivery fee? If it 'does not count as a tip' then where does the money go?

not supposed to but yup, can also see your credit scores and file.

That's what I thought. I also think it's cute how there's an almost stern message about tipping well on the box. It's like, if you value your employees so much, why don't YOU pay them more?

I work loss prevention at wal-mart. Every time I catch people shoplifting they think I have some type of authority and allow me to take them into the office until the real police come. But if you get caught shoplifting and tell me to fuck off and walk out the store there is not a thing I can do about it, even if you are on video (unless it is over $500 at my store anyway). Seriously if you get caught just calmly walk out of the store and nobody can do anything except get a description, also if you drop the item in the store and run out you are pretty much good to go.

Along those lines: Retail people, are there really security cameras behind all those dark bubbles, or is that just a bluff?
>>
>>720180301
legally? yes, I would.
Practically? haven't seen any CP in this job. Pedos apparently aren't all stupid.

If you're repairing the phone of a 15-year-old guy and he has pics of his girlfriend on there thats a different story.

Not all of them. the ones on the front end, backroom, pharmacy, liquor, electronics and entrances/parking lots are the only heavily monitored ones, but there are random ones around the store. Pro-tip in 3 stores I sorked at there is zero camera coverage of the fabric section for some reason.
>>
>>720181594
pretty straightforward anon.
most people will just decline a 'how can I help you', because it's kind of a shitty question. You don't know what they know so how can you answer?

'what brings you in today' is a question you can easily and automatically answer, and they can follow that up with more specific knowledge.

Essentially it's a better question, gets higher response rate, and leads to more sales.

Never stolen, but ive heard stories of it. Mainly was this car wash dude one time we had at the dealer, but never experienced a tech thief. Also, never intentionally fucked someones car up, but have heard of techs doing this (mainly at dealerships) just to upsell work. Most techs are pretty cool in my exp.

yes people think the docs are wrong in their diagnoses and demand further radiation and other tests because google told them their headache was cancer.

Had a patient whos family thought the doc i was working with was "incompetent" because she didnt CT the 90 year old grandma for a headache. she had a history of migraines and had simply forgotten to take her meds for it.

The doctor was reprimanded by admin staff because the family had written a harsh complaint and her patient satisfaction scores dropped. The hospital i work with is anal about patient satisfaction scores so they can receive more government funding.
