Lol, trump is about to implement a single-payer healthcare system, the most socialist program the US has seen. Absolutely hilarious how the don't-tread-on-me trump supporters thought they were getting a procapitalist anti-government leader who was going to put the poor back to work and get then off welfare. Looks like you've just been bait and switched. Several Democrats propose a single payer system and you poo poo on it, but when your orange oaf does it...yey.

Nice pivot. Go from "he's gunna build our wall" to "we don't care what he does", only after you realize he won't keep the campaign promises. Shits gotta be hard to swallow. I wonder where the " lyin Ted" guy is now.

Actually it would not surprise me at all if that would be the case. The Repressicans will do it as well, and the Dems will cry about having a Universal System because they are not in power. That is how it is in a single party system with a left, and right. They are both progressive, it is just in how they screw the people that is different.

1. Obabo asks for universal single payer.
2. Republican-controlled Congress pitches a bitch and demands a shitload of compromises (written by the insurance and pharmaceutical industries) be included. The compromises make it fairly shitty for a lot of people.
3. The Republican-controlled media talk endlessly about how shitty the whole thing is and label it Obamacare so that his name is permanently associated with how shitty it is. Despite itself, it actually manages to help like 10% of the population.
4. Wait for a Republican president.
5. Repeal Obabocare.
6. Republican president asks for universal single payer. Republican-controlled Congress makes it so.

So we get what we need eventually, just as long as the nigger doesn't get credit for it.

A single payer would be better than obamacare, that's what's so funny about it. When it was even mentioned years ago during the reform, the inbred hicks cried no. But when trump does it inbred hicks cheer.

Next up:
Obamer can't take our guns.
Trump comes for guns and hicks say okay.

Bush passes the Patriot Act, the liberals cry about how Bush will abuse it, so he doesn't. Then Obama gets in abuses the shit out of it liberal are cheering, and pass the NDAA. The right whines over that, but do nothing. It is a system where each use the other to heap the abuses until the people are no longer free.
>>
>>719356888
This. You nailed it. The only thing the GOP ever cared about was keeping the President from being recognized as the President. Block everything, at all costs.

President Obama won. The Republicants who ruined the ACA are now gonna own it. Maybe they'll actually make it work now. They'll take the credit, but history will record that it wouldnt have happened without President Obama.
>>
>>719357951
Yes, that's what every red-blooded American wants. Let the free market sort things out. If you're too sick or crippled to afford healthcare, you're a drain on the economy and I'm not paying to keep you alive. Taxation is theft, and the weak should fear the strong. Rev up the gas chambers.
>>
>>719353368
You're retarded.

The original republican plan was an expansion of medicare/medicaid, which was a single payer system.

The democratic party wrote some retarded system with no ability to implement or enforce it, and said, "Let's just pass it and see what's in it." -Pelosi

Now they're mad that they 1) didn't make it single payer 2) backed out on enforcing the tax penalties and 3) allowed "children" (age 26 is not a fucking child) to stay on a parents plan so it fucked up all the insurance pools and sent all the exchanges into monopolistic death spirals.

Now they have literally 0 power and you have to just cry while it's defunded and replaced with the same exact medicare/medicaid expansion that every single republican governor has been gradually implementing across the country. So long ACA legacy.

It's not going to be their plan," Trump said, referring to the existing, highly controversial, complex and admittedly flawed Democratic program passed in 2010 along party lines. "It'll be another plan. But … I don't want single-payer."
>>
Trump was once all for it. "We must take care of our own," he wrote in his 2000 book "The America We Deserve." "We must have universal health care. Just imagine the improved quality of life for our society as a whole. … With more than 40 million Americans living day to day in fear that an illness or injury will wipe out their savings or drag them into bankruptcy, how can we truly engage in the 'pursuit of happiness' as our founders intended?

"The Canadian-style, single-payer system in which all payments for medical care are made to a single agency (as opposed to the large number of HMOs and insurance companies with their diverse rules, claim forms and deductibles) … helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans."

You forgot the part where the congress was controlled by the Dems and that ACA was passed without a single republican vote.

ACA is what started the whole R vs D "Obama will be a one term president" bullshit war. His plan to ram ACA through with 0% compromise is what has made Obobo so divisive, not race. He constantly went out of his way, especially during his first 4 years, to ram shit through without absolutely no reaching across the aisle.

That shit combined with executive orders/memoranda is why you now have Trumpy-poo and the solid red Senate/House/Governors.

That's what they did.

It's like having a room of 100 people, 49 of them have to pee, and 51 vote for no bathroom breaks then the next day the 51 who voted for no bathroom breaks have to pee only 5 of them aren't there and the 49 don't have to pee anymore. Shit get's real.

People don't have a problem with universal healthcare, op. They have a problem with healthcare costing so much. It's expensive.

If Obama had done what he said he was gonna do, and lower the costs to more realistic levels.. Americans wouldn't have minded.

But all you see is race, ideology, political spectrum.

Socialism has capitalistic elements. Do you consider socialism capitalism because of that?

He won't. He was very specific about thinking it was a good system but not the platform he was running on.

>>
>>719360660
"Government" is not necessarily a hindrance.
Large, Federal, Government is a hindrance.

Lots of states have very good, very successful, medicare/medicaid programs. They're also expanding.

If you're in the industry, then you should understand that the two fundamental issues with healthcare in the US are 1) Lack of consumer involvement and 2) Waste.

You cannot guarantee medical care. You can only guarantee medical insurance. If you are going to guarantee medical insurance, you have to have a guaranteed "quality level" as defined by the law. This means that NO MATTER WHAT, you are going to have LEVELS of care. There will ALWAYS be poor people care and rich people care.
You will accomplish more by forcing the industry to INFORM THE PATIENT about costs and then incentivizing the patient to hold the hospital/doctor/insurance company/whatever accountable for the cost.

Right now, no one knows what anything costs. This kind of legislation is FAR more important that giving people free shit.

It would promote competition, eliminate waste, help track unneeded and unwanted testing and get more needed/wanted testing, and give the patient more for less. This would then start to raise the level of care for the average person.

Rich people will always be able to cure themselves of cancer. Poor people will always die of a rare disease. There's nothing you're going to do about that.

But healthcare costs were skyrocketing and the ACA lessened the damage. It was going to grow no matter what was done. There wasn't a master plan that would have stopped that entirely (and if there was it was likely too radical to be pushed through Congress at all, let alone completely butchered before being passed like the ACA).

I know way more Americans who either benefited from the ACA or are indifferent to it (they either saw no change or saw less price increases than were expected without it) than those who are being negatively effected by it. I hope whatever plan Trump has is passed quickly so millions aren't left out to suffer.

No. Which is why I hope "repeal immediately" is a ledge the GOP can be talked down from. If they want to replace it with something they think is better, that's their prerogative. They won, they can do what they want. But repealing it with no plan for replacement already in place is a recipe for disaster that shouldn't morally sit right with anyone. Is the hatred for anything that came from Obama so great that they'd be willing to pull out the carpet from under millions of their constituents? My mind obviously says no, but my heart isn't so sure they care that much.
>>

>But healthcare costs were skyrocketing and the ACA lessened the damage. It was going to grow no matter what was done.

No, legislation to reign in healthcare costs is what was needed, and what should have been done. Universal healthcare is something that should have came AFTER.

Folks like you are simply impatient. You think building a house on a bad foundation is a good idea.. the foundation will just be fixed sometime down the road.

Reality doesn't work like that

> I hope whatever plan Trump has is passed quickly so millions aren't left out to suffer.

Give me a fucking break. Life-threatening illnesses were already required by law to be treated by hospitals. It's not like people are dying on the streets without ACA.

As far as non-life threatening illnesses.. those millions can kiss my ass. If they want a better life, they can work for it.

So people should be left to have a life full of pain and suffering that could be treated because their life didn't play out the way they wanted?

Isn't it better as country to not have a bunch of people unable to get treatment? We'd likely have less workers with bad backs or bad knees or suffering from depression or dying from some disease that could have been prevented if they had gotten treatment sooner. More money would be moving throughout the economy and not caught up in medical debt. You'd honestly prefer all of that money not seeing the light of day? These people would buy houses or start businesses, not pay absurd amounts of money due to accidents or genetics or the fact that they started off poor in a climate where upward mobility is incredibly difficult and they are almost assured to never be in a position with enough money to pay for their healthcare in the first place.

Assuming everyone can work will only get you so far, until you're the one that can't work.

We're talking about the US, ffs. Where "upward mobility" is the easiest it has ever been for people. We live like kings, anon.

Other than that, I mostly agree on the rest. Life is a bitch for some, and for them.. yes, I agree.. a little help from everyone else isn't a bad idea. The problem is that a lot of people who can provide for themselves don't, instead choosing to take advantage of systems.

Fix the foundation, FIRST. Reign in the costs, and Americans won't mind universal healthcare.

Shove 2700 pages down our throats, when only 700 has to do with healthcare, and we're gonna have a problem with it.

>He believes they work in NYC
>Is in favor of NYC's illegal stop/frisk program that was cancelled

Why is it so crazy to think he would want that in other places?
>>
>>719353992

So where is the article from Buzzfeed about what Clinton would look like without makeup?
>>
>>719365101
yeah I got it
>>
>>719365348
this is the dumbest thing I've read today
>>
>>719365037
Americans have been conned into thinking trump is fit for the presidency. I don't think they'll give up all their guns, but I bet they'll be more open to expanding background checks and restrictions on military style weapons.
>>
>>719365301

I never said it was crazy for Trump to want anything. He can want whatever he wants.

That doesn't mean Americans will give a shit. No president will ever con Americans into giving up their guns.

It won't happen.

>We're talking about the US, ffs. Where "upward mobility" is the easiest it has ever been for people. We live like kings, anon.

Are you being ironic? Upward mobility is the hardest it's ever been for people. It's one of the main symptoms of the massive income inequality we have in the US today. And that gap is getting bigger.

Why do you care so much if a relatively small portion of those who receive "take advantage" when the vast majority of those do not? Are there any statistics about individuals somehow taking advantage of the ACA?
>>
>>719364827
yes indeed. The death panels already exist. But they make their decisions on a profit basis. Who would you rather have running your death panel - the government, or an arm of the CEO?
>>
>>719365426

You didn't think the Buzzfeed Trump without fake tan article was stupid?

Ever heard of sarcasm, dumbass?

Frankly either candidate seemed like a nuclear coin toss with how badly Hillary antagonized Russia.
>>
>>719366049
I can't agree. The relationship with Russia under Obama was strained but nothing came of it. Hillary would have been more of the same. She may have been a hawk but the Dems have never been posturing as though they wanted to get into anything with Russia. Up until sometime this fall the claim that the GOP would be the side that was groveling at Putin's feet was absolutely ridiculous.

War with Russia wasn't going to come from either candidate. We're more likely to align with Russia in the future now, but the relationship was never going to be bad enough to lead to war no matter who won. Because that war doesn't benefit us, it doesn't benefit Russia, it doesn't benefit Europe, it doesn't benefit the Middle East.

God did people really believe that Hillary would get us in a war with Russia? Over what exactly? Syria?
>>
>>719366699
She said she wanted a no fly zone over Syria. Which would mean war with Russia.
>>
The only fact is that America is Putin's bitch now.
>>
>>719366946
It literally wouldn't but okay. Syria is not important enough for Russia to start a war with the West.
>>
>>719353368
>Lol, trump is about to implement a single-payer healthcare system
Good. Glad I voted for him.
>>
>>719353368

Planet Nibiru draws ever closer and what are you faggots doing? Wasting your time on the internet jerking your tiny dicks to traps and nigger cuck porn. Well I got news for you: Obama has no intention of leaving office for he is the 44th king of Babylon. Blood will flow from every nation and fire will rain from the sky. You will all beg for death as you are buried in the ashes of your loved ones but death will not come. Humanity will be plunged into eternal darkness. Say your prayers, faggots..

You will see. Putin will be best friend to American people. Russians do not want war, but we will help America in the 21 century. You need to know how to deal with terrorist. Russia can teach you this. You have no security. Russia will teach you protect your self. You will see. Putin will be very, very good for American.

It's a ledge only Democrats think the GOP is on. Paul Ryan has repeatedly said there will be a replacement if the repeal. Other GOP Rep have said the same. If the SOTH doesn't introduce the bills nothing will matter, he controls what gets voted on
>>
>>719374170
In 50 years Russia's population will have dipped by like 30 million because all the young people are fleeing like rats out of a sinking ship or refusing to bring kids into that shithole country. Also your population will be like 40% muslim by then cuz they're the only ones reproducing. Enjoy your assault trucks you track suit wearing, vodka guzzling, shaven headed, squatting in parking lot slav bitches.

You act like voting matters and both sides aren't shills and have always (at least since the 50's) been shills wearing a different color tie
