Long time smoker here.

I always ripped it directly into my lungs because i felt the smoke more so i felt like i was getting more high.

These days unless im smoking from a bong i will suck the smoke into my mouth then inhale it from there.

This came about from realizing that every time i took a hit i was also inhaling a ton of ash directly into my lungs. Letting the ash settle in my saliva before inhaling just seems a lot more healthy.

Most of the times i end up coughing really hard if if either a piece of ash tickles the back of my throat, or the smoke i inhale is just too hot. Hot smoke does not equal a stronger hit.

doesn't really matter as long as it gets in your lungs. I honestly think I smoke weed and cigs the same, but they aren't that different like for you. no matter what I'm smoking I always inhale some "fresh" smoke after to push either the nicotine or thc into my lungs.

only difference with weed is how long I hold it in. sometimes with weed I will make an effort to exhale after holding it in for awhile.

It was just a persistent deep cough that would not fucking stop. I'd cough for a few seconds, catch my breath then cough a few more times etc getting "deeper" every time. I've been smoking a little over a year now op, smoked almost every day since I started (doing it rn in fact) I coughed a lot when I first started. But now I rarely cough. I usually keep something to drink close by, usually water, to help if my throat burns or whatever. And I keep my piece clean. I usually clean it with isopropyl alcohol and q-tips, works great.
