Language education in this country is really sub-par too, and I feel it deprives a lot of people of the ability to broaden their horizons and connect with the wider world. Hell, I'd even just be happy to translate a regular game, but that sounds really awesome.

Well the problem with speaking English is that you rarely have a reason to not speak English. It's a language that's taught pretty much anywhere in the world, so few people find the need to learn other things.

That's true, but that kind of attitude isn't entirely a correct one to have. Just because English is widely taught somewhere, for example in Japan, it doesn't mean that you can just go over there and expect people to understand you.

Besides that, there's certainly a market for such a game, too. Just look at the sheer amount of language aquisition software (Rosetta Stone for example) and phrasebooks that are already on the market.

Some kind of RPG where you travel to different lands where you have to learn aspects of different languages would be cool. Perhaps the focus would be less on learning different languages, but teaching people small parts of them to help them pick up different linguistic skills and ways of constructing sentences, which would then in turn boost their language learning.

The attitude is entirely the wrong one to have. It's like the age old story of the Englishman that goes to a restaurant in a foreign country and shouts "DO YOU DO CHIPS?" at a waiter who doesn't understand a word of English. It's difficult for people to communicate properly if they can't be understood, and even if the person you're talking to can understand English it sometimes helps to have a grasp of their first language.

I honestly think that there's a huge need for games like that really. From what I remember, there's significant evidence that attempting to gamify learning experiences leads to better retention.

It would be interesting to have something to enable people to pick up language acquisition skills, but I think for the majority of people you're looking at a situation where they want to learn a specific language and they'll be looking for a way to do that.

I would agree that it's entirely the wrong attitude to have, but it is, quite unfortunately, somewhat true that English is very widely spoken. For example, if you go to Sweden and try to speak Swedish, they're just gonna speak English back to you because they're so eager to use it.

Not too bad, Chara. I got some grub at a coffee house and loaded up on back-to-school supplies. I've also had peppermint tea and soy milk; the tea was good, but the soy milk was only okay. It's pretty good on cereal, though.

Yeah, Rei was super helpful. Apparently I may want to forgo shaving in favor of hair removal creams. I'll probably be able to get my hands on some fairly soon.

I also got some black cohosh, although I'll probably delay taking it since I'm under a bit of stress right now and I don't need my hormones going wild. I'm also thinking about switching my asthma and allergy steroid from fluticasone to mometasone, partly because the former isn't very effective and partly because the latter is apparently a potent progesterone agonist.

I live in the US. I could hypothetically get hormones from any doctor, but I doubt that many would be willing to write a prescription for even small amounts of estrogens for various reasons, primarily because I don't have gender dysphoria.

I know one pharmacy in town where I could get a prescription filled discretely, but it's getting the hormones that'll be the problem.

I need a counselor, a psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist who all approve that I'm female to get hormones.

So if you can get the prescription discretely how would getting the hormones be a problem?

And I really don't recommend hormones for you if you only want to be a cuteboy.

You get moodswings. You'll cry, due to the smallest things and whatnot.
You know the area around your nipple? It will get bigger and much more sensitive. Like, touching it is super uncomfortable. If you take them long enough you get boobs.
You loose your sex drive and when you take it long enough you'll become impotent too. Fapping will take longer and cum will get less.
The fat distribution changes. You'll get hips and boobs (like I said) chest hair and backhair will stop growing. Beard growth will be slowed down a bit. Skin will get smoother and more clean.

That's all the side effects I can think of right now.
