Been in jail once. Was on work release for 20 days becuse I didn't go up anger mgmt. was able to be out for work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week. Had a job that would vouch for me. Never got searched, never had my car serched. Went home and showered everyday after work. Smoked a lot of pot. Got out 3 days earlier than expected

Did 8 months in prison when I was 16/17. Its pretty much highschool. For the most part, everyone just wants to do their time and get the fuck out.

We were a gram short of felony marijuana, and had felony posession of several other drugs. Was in for 6 months. Going back for 1-2 years in 2 weeks. Cases not related, no I did not diddle kids or rape someone. The charges were/are drug related and that's all you get since I'm still fighting my case.

Not everybody who goes to prison gets raped. Unless your crime involved raping, generally you fare fine. Just keep your head down and don't get too involved in the politics. Don't accept things (cigs/drugs) on credit and don't be a rat.

Squatting and coughing is nothing. There's far more humiliating things that go on.

Overall, it's just as bad as on TV but also not as bad. You do see fights and shit, but as long as you're not in with violent offenders, you won't witness people get shanked and shit.
