I was that girl once. However my situation was different in that he gave me a second chance. Now we're here three years later and it's the best thing ever. I realised I fucked up and never lied again and I have what is probably the best most fulfilling relationship I've ever had. I'm glad he saw enough value in me to try things again and start over.

I think you're an asshole for not helping her get over her problem, but that you were right in doing what you told her would happen. I think you should have broke the relationship while supporting her as a friend. Then once she heals a little, end everything.
