you're talking to someone who has a MacBook

I bet he has all the consoles, too.
>>
They are both really shitty

Id rather get something like a gtx 980 for a gpu. still good and affordable. Better prossessor as well, look for a 3.5ghz with 8< cache
>>
>>718208735
Yes you cant do much wrong. You shouldn't be cheap at processor, graphic and cooling. Motherboard mid-class. RAM and SSD neither that good unless you want real high end
>>
Any advice on a parts list? Looking to spend around £750
>>
>>718209304
And pls dont spend much money on edgy expensive tower, better spend that in cooling or graphic. Nor buy about 16gb ram. 8gb should be already enough. 16gb is already overkill

Edgelord
>>
>>718209450
Look for graphic cards and processor. They should cost around 1/2-2/3 of pc together. RAM is cheap, motherbird and cooler 2nd expensive, Tower lowclasa
>>
>>718209735
You can take HDD from old PC and DVD Runner too. Just buy an additional SSD for fast booting
>>
>>718208596
No they're not.

If you can give me a budget and tell me what some of the games that you're planning to play are then maybe I can build a custom PC for you.
>>
>>718208596
seven components:
storage
case
RAM
motherboard
CPU
PSU
GPU

it's not complicated, you can even let someone tell you what to buy:

Find anything with 16gb ram, gtx 1070, i5 6600k, and an ssd and you'll be golden.
>>
>>718210174
Look for graphic cards in your price range and compare them (there are graphic Card Ranking Tables online). Then search processor. Intel with nivida, AMD with other stuff works best. Then her some RAM, Not that uberstuff, everything 1600mhz+ is enough. Then get SSD in midclass with good ranking (cheap would work top, Just bit slower boothing). Look that psu has enough Power and dont buy top cheap PSU (Look in ratings in Shop and how much Watt your stuff needs, I think around 500-700 Watt is sure enough). Dunno.

I dont like this setup.
Buying a i5 core now doesn't seem right, and can that 500wat supply even run the whole thing? I also dont get what they mean "highly upgradeable". Only thing is that the case seems roomy, otherwise the parts won't work well with new gear.

Personally I haven't used a DVD/CD in a long time. I even got rid of the reader. But it can be useful when installing new parts.

Please tell me this isn't a recommendation. Buying an FX 83xx right now is ridiculous. If an AMD processor is a possibility, wait for Ryzen.

You could have this easily with $400-500
I wouldnt suggest the 1050 as its not even up to par with an old 980. 2 rx 480s or a gtx 1080 should give you the headroom youre after with 4k.

Dude you will need a GTX 1060 at least to be future proof. 4k, VR, new games rate a 1060 as the bare minimum.
And ditch the fancy case and HDD (get an SSD) and cd drive. The curren processor is an excellent choice. Also consider getting a regular retail i5 6400 pc and buying and installing the videocard by your self.
>>
>>718210225
I have an phenom x6 1075t. Wishing I had an i7
>>
>>718212483
By the way, homie. If you are not into assembly yourself. Go to a local pc parts shop. Buy the stuff there a little pricyer than online and pay 30 bucks extra and theyll assemble and install the stuff for you.
>>
>>718212483
Np, you should be fairly future safe with that build.

If you can spend more money I recommend you add another 8gb ram and potentially adding an SSD for your OS to be on.
>>
>>718212322
you are retarded

I have a spare 1tb SSD, thanks again man
>>
>>718212940
This guy's right.
If you don't want to do your homework and learn exactly how to put your pc together it's definitely worth it to pay just a little extra just to make sure everything goes right.

Yo can I edit this a bit cause a "K" edition shouldn't go with a non "Z" motherboard and the cpu cooler isnt the best either but it'll get the job done
>>
>>718209572
leave /b/
>>
>>718213677
Of course you can edit it if you feel like you know better, I wasn't even aware that anyone else was able to do so.

I have never heard processor not being compatible with a motherboard just because it's unlocked.

Since he is on a 750£ budget I just went with a trusted brand name for the cpu cooler. I don't think it's necessary for him to get any better though.
>>
>>718214504
no the processor is fully compatible but the k editions need a Z chipset to be used as an unlocked processor

Dude, first visit 2 or 3 local shops. Tell them you want advice for a i5 6400 with an gtx 1060 system. See what they offer you. If you have more money to burn tell them you want it VR or 4k ready. Pick the offer and shop you feel best with.

Can you provide some details of what your looking to do with your PC? I'd like to know what titles your looking to play and on what settings/resolution. Also I'd like to know a budget if there is one

Cool setup. Also consider the elite 110 and the sg13 case. And OP save yourself some trouble and get a legit Windows license.
