To be honest, I fucking hate memes now. Overexposure killed /b/ and now it's killed meme culture, ever since Reddit propegated the idea that a meme is an image macro, which led to fucking niggers on twitter rehashing classic ghetto "culture" and forcing it upon the internet where young impressionable people populate the largest audience of said memes. And now that these kids have been exposed, they now spread it through social media, which has become a much of a stable of human culture as the television, and the memes are integrated into society. It used to be where if you memed, you looked autistic. Now, meming just makes you look dumb to a small minority of people.

To add onto the meme rant, the other biggest killer of meme culture is that everyone wants to make memes, not content. Again, this is because of image macros. A meme is just an idea or thought spread through communites and becoming popular. A meme didn't have to follow a template, it just was. Then the image macro age of memes came about, and since everyone laughed at the occassional image macro, people tried creating their own. This is also what spread the idea that a meme is an image macro. Now we had memes that all followed the same basic formula, only changing through text on a template. And since a couple were still funny, people kept making them. Eventually we hit a point where the templates were all that was left. We didn't make content that became memes. We made memes that became shares. Likes. Reposts. And at some point we hit today, where it all went to shit and they aren't even using the templates anymore, it's all just retarded niggers trying to meme. Great rant guys, I'm actually writing a paper on this. When I'm finished, I'll be sure to publish it on %b/, and hopefully it'll be a lot more clear and organized than this.
