Rum and coke is a fucking classic, you can't go wrong but I'll throw you some suggesstions and pairings.

Bacardi and coke
Dark versions of Cpt.Morgan go very well with dr pepper
If you're looking for something a bit stauncher try Kraken rum, it's pretty great for hot buttered rum.

Greygoose will mix with anything, I prefer 7up over Sprite

Don't be afraid of trying something just cause it looks girly, shit is 200% delicious most of the time.

Also stay away from cheap liquor, like 5 oclock vodka, your stomach will thank you.

Moxie and whiskey. Generally i just drink whiskey with water because i like remaining hydrated but also dont ingest much sugar on a regular basis. Ginger and whiskey is also good as other anons have mentioned. Sweet tea and whiskey is good. Coffee is whiskey is good too, i am drinking that right now and once my coffee is gone ill drink some ginger ale with it.
