I am originally from Morocco, I then lived in HK and now I live in Canada.

I hear this being said very often, however, I never got any legitimate reasons for it. Islam is very similar to Christianity and Judaism. The Western world was based from Christian principles, therefore due to the nearness in thought/culture, Islam is also compatible.

Moreover, there are many very successful Muslim people in Western countries therefore it is evident that it can be compatible. However, there are others who commit heinous acts who show that it is not compatible.

But, we should also notice that these heinous acts are not mutually inclusive of Islam. They are also perpetrated by individuals with different religious practices.

Therefore, isn't it naive to assume that Islam is not compatible with the Western countries culture, when evil has existed way before the coming of Muslims?

I'm not OP but I will answer that for you.

In Islam it is said that the Bible and the Torah (The Jewish book) were altered by many priests by adding and removing things to and from them. (Old/ New Testament in case of the Bible and how every Bible written by a different Priest is slightly different from the other).

The Quran on the other hand, has been the same for 1400 Years and contains the same commandments that were in the earlier unaltered versions of both books. Hence Islam is more like what Christianity and Judaism were instead of being a mixture of them. But as a Muslim you are required to believe in all holy books and all prophets (Jesus, Abraham and Moses for example, among others).

Mary, for example, has a whole chapter in the Quran named after her.

Our problem is not religion. Our problem started after we were colonised by England/France. They placed corrupt people in power after they left and those same families have been ruling us ever since. As a result the prison guards got very light sentences. Which I think, logically, is reasonable in their circumstance.

In other words, Muslims condemn the terrorists entirely. But, they understand that a poor farmer in Iraq that has had his kids killed in an airstrike is very easily recruited by terrorists organizations which will use him to attain their goals.

Many other religions in the East address these issues as well. Jainism is very interesting and I have studied it. It is actually very similar to fundamental Sufi Islam.

They are not reasonable to follow in modern society, or in any society. They are idealized structured philosophies. Beautiful and I wish we could all be this pure, but the world is not so.
