Anakin wore that garb both as a Jedi and with permission of the Jedi council. He did not fall to the dark side until he let his desire to save someone important to him override the needs of the galaxy around him. In fact the tragedy is that his desire to save the last person that mattered in his life resulted in the loss of that loved one. When Anakin fell to the dark side, it was because despite even his best intentions, it only caused more loss. Anakin fell because he lost all hope. The very thing that caused his fall is also what brought him back to the light, because inspite of the galaxy around him(which he now controlled and was basically guaranteed to be able to rule over) he chose to save the last person he could ever call a "loved one," his own son.

TL;DR Anakin was light up until his selfish desire to save a particular life led to his fall, but this same scenario turns vader back to the light at the end of ROTJ, meaning he wore black as a jedi and only fell due to goals that one could describe from a perspective as selfless.

I'm not even 100% convinced he's the bad guy. I think he might be trying to get close to Snoke to kill him, like how Vader killed Palpatine, but he has to go full Dark Side to do so and is actually having trouble doing that.

They basically are trying to remake 4 basing the new story roughly off of the Jedi Academy trilogy.

Never finished the series but was over halfway through. Essentially Leia and Han are in government, Luke is off being mystical looking for followers, and Han/Leia have two kids (boy and a girl). There is a "star crusher" weapon capable of blowing up solar systems (sound familiar?) Controlled by a regiment of empire forces that were never aware of the rebellion having tavern taken place.

In another series, Luke has a possible son (I think) that turns bad for a bit - so I think they are fucking with ideas from the original extended universe as it is - but you never know with Disney how they will turn things into their own brain child.

Maybe with the bobafett movie they will dip into the Mandelorian War plot. Im not sure about the Han solo movie, though. They would have to stretch into new territory with that one. I'm pretty sure Lucas only wants to get involved with another movie if it's about Obi Wan
