Because i am a registered dietician and i am convinced that the health benefits of being a vegan are mainly due to the increased c9nsumption of fruits and vegetables that vegans eat. A balanced omnivorous diet with lots of fruits an vegetables is in my opinion a more healthy diet choice than a diet that literally needs supplementation in order to not get permanent nerve damage (aka the vegan diet)

Back in college a girl in our circle of friends went full vegan, she never did tell any of us why. She gradually became hard to deal with, everything from preaching veganism to utterly random statements. Her roommate complained about the stench in the bathroom.

I'm not a vegan because I am selfish. I have always been skinny and looked down on, so I am growing for the first time in my life and filling out my frame. Eating poultry and fish is how I recuperate from weightlifting. It is cheap and easy to prepare for myself.

Doesn't veganism break down when confronted with people who do not mistreat their animals on home farms? The whole point of being vegan is to end cruelty. Well what of the farmer who lets all of his animals do what they want, does not abuse them, and the consumes the milk, cheese and eggs from these animals. Then when they die of old age eat the meat. How is this still cruelty? How is it not vegan?

The actual healthy way to eat is mostly vegan 6 days a week. A bit of dairy won't hurt, just don't go crazy. Then have some good meat 1 day a week.

That's a healthier diet than any vegan has.

If you care about animal welfare, well that's a separate matter, but I don't trust vegans on that topic because they're so retarded they think eating honey is unethical.

-On the laundry list of things that can possibly, or add to the cumulative burden of things that will kill me, meat is not a high priority thing to remove given its ample nutrient density.
-The benefits of veganism are negligible compared to people who take care of themselves holistically. Studies cited about bone fracture rates, longevity, alzheimers etc, are kind of moot because none of them compare the vegan group to another meat eating group that is actually health conscious. They all compare to everyone eating the standard american diet which is fucking deplorable garbage that increases all cause mortality. It's like comparing a vegan group to a group that has successfully committed suicide and then waving around the longevity of vegans like its some amazing inalienable truth.
-I buy what I can when it comes to humanely treated animal products. CAFO production is heinous and I wish more could be done about it. Moreso, nutrient density becomes multiple times higher through sustainable production; saturated fat and cholesteral content also goes down with properly sourced animal product.
-All this being said, omnivore or otherwise, the average person should eat ~10 cups of vegetables a day for truly optimal health. The only reason you see this actually happening in vegans is that its hard as balls to eat such insane volume especially when animal products are already super calorie dense. It becomes near impossible in the high stress first world.

tl;dr everyone would be better off eating more vegetables. On the hierarchy of evil, meat isn't even a contender.
