Well, in terms of evolution in the sense of getting your species to survive, virus and bacteria does a good job. Which indicates that they evolved into doing so. And if your whole purpose is to copy/corrupt DNA, than that kind of suggests that at some point you had to encounter DNA to evolve into modifying it, right?

We have no current reason to believe that aliens have DNA. They might, but it probably wouldn't look like our DNA anyway, even though it served a similar purpose.

So if they are perfectly evolved and adapted to live in this spesific world, and to act on spesific cell nuclei/DNA, etc, it is pretty reasonable to assume that they evolved in this environment.

If a life form arises, lives for millions of years, somehow get sent into space, lands on a distant planet, that planet contains life, and that life has the spesific DNA that your life form already specalized in... well, if you know basic statistics, I guess you see my point. No aliens here.
