higher priced bourbons i like: pappy van winkle 12 year, pinhook, bulleit 10 year

equal priced to makers: bulleit, bulleit rye, woodford reserve, jim beam black, angels envy

cheap but awesome: old grandad, very old barton, old forester

Glenfiddich is pretty good, Glenmorangie would be up your alley.
Don't let these hipsters tell you anything, nothing wrong with bourbon. Woodford Reserve is really good, Bulliet makes a good product. If you can ever find a good Canadian Rye it's well worth the try. Make sure it says it is rye though, most Canadian whiskies are going to corn or barley these days, so make sure it says RYE. Crown Royal Northern Harvest is not bad, Centennial is my favorite, Canadian Club 100% rye is good also. Don't mistake this for regular Canadian Club to be good, it's not. Forty Creeks are all good.

Japanese whiskies are actually really cool and making a lot of noise, the Nikka or Hibiki are both awesome but I don't think you can go wrong with any Japanese whisky.

I'm a fan of Eagle rare and knob creek. Maker's didn't set well with me when I had it. If you're looking for more of a "cheap high end" whisky, Gentleman Jack is pretty smooth with little to no burn. I also enjoy Jim Beam Black, their 8 year distilled is really good as well.

Not similar to glenfiddich. Most similar to Lagavulin 16, or a Laphroaig 18. It's not the peat bomb you get from a laphroaig 10 though, which can be offputting to people.

You don't say.
>>
>>714502745
No. but he major ones do. It's a staple of islay Scotland.

Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, etc.

World renowned companies. Look, it's weird at first. First glass I ever had was Laphroaig 10. With ice, did not like the experience. 2 weeks later I tried a Laga 16 neat. Mind was blown, never went back to the highlands and speysides (glenfiddich example)

By the way... imo best bang for ur buck in terms of quality is glenfiddich 15, if you want non-smokey

>>714501424

Try some American whiskey's. Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare, Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve are all quality bourbons (charred oak barrel aged, at least 2 years). I like Tennessee style better which includes Jack Daniel's (my first drink and still in my top ten), and George Dickel which is an up and coming label that I've taken a real shine to. Tennessee style mellows the whiskey through sugar maple charcoal, which imparts a sweet/sour current on it that I personally love.

Single malt scotch is better than bourbon imo.

Look for Laphroaig. It's cheap ($30ish) and probably one of the most interesting whiskies around. But it's kind of smokey and not e ergo e likes it.

If you want a nice, smooth, normie scotch then you should try Macallan 12.

Awesome, most muslims that drink usually know more about booze than most anyone. Hell, before the americans fucked it all up, Iran was known for making incredible red wines, but then they threw out the democratic government because it went a little communist because they didn't want to be america's bitch.

Can you blame em for burning down the capitalist pig sow's preferred entertainment while raping their kids?

Maker's Mark is my favorite. When it comes to every day drinking. In before stop liking what I don't like. Some of my friends like Jamison. I'm not a big Irish whisky fan. Not bad. But not grate. Bookers is good if you like maker's mark. Billet rye is good if your a rye fan. How are you drinking it?
>>
>>714512901
go to bed m ike
>>
>>714497088
What other whiskeys have you tried? Jack Daniels? Some shit in a plastic bottle? Because Maker's Mark is fucking terrible.
>>
>>714503874
You remind me of my financial colleagues who can't eat at mcdonalds anymore because we occasionally eat at Michelin restaurants.

McDonald's is low tier in quality and price, but there is nothing wrong with thinking there are things to be enjoyed from all ranges.

McDonald's is awesome! Tastes like fat and sugar, Michelin restaurants are also awesome, and so is makers mark.

Perhaps you truly do not like the taste, but I find that hard to believe, because you made a point to strongly discourage it.

Why feel such a strong need to distance yourself from low-tier, unless you fear that is actually where you belong?
>>
>>714497088
I like Maker's Mark, too. Also Rebel Yell and Wild Turkey 86°.
>>
>>714497088
any scotch. seriously, American whiskeys are usually quite flavorless.
>>
>>714504291
Haha you're the pleb brah! ;) I count lots of opened bottles amongst them, and either you are ruining all your alcohol or you are drinking all of those up in less then a year which makes you a raging alcoholic :p
>>
>>714513645
>American whiskeys are usually quite flavorless.
You're probably thinking of Canadian whiskies. Bourbon is anything but flavorless.
>>
>>714497088
Blanton's Single Barrel
90 proof
Very smooth
>>
>>714513645
Theres a difference between whiskey and bourbon. plain whiskey like jack or Canadian whiskeys are flavorless, but bourbon is anything but
>>
>>714513777
good stuff but quite a bit higher pprice than makers
>>
>>714513435
it's not so much that I'm opposed to drinking cheap liquor... it's that OP said Maker's Mark is the best whiskey he's ever had.

I'll drink maker's mark and eat mcdonalds, no problem - they both get the job done, but I won't pretend it isn't garbage
>>
>>714497088
If you're into rum I suggest some of this:
>>
>>714513740
no, I'm thinking of American bourbons and whiskeys. of all that I have had, the nose is always quite similar. maybe the mid and finish can differ, but that's about it. honestly, I personally prefer a scotch sincerely because of how it smells and feels. it usually doesn't quite kick in with the burn until the initial swallow or finish. American whiskeys have usually been the opposite for me. have I had all of them? no, but I've had a few samplings all over the price range of both.

Logically it may well be the best whisky he's ever had!

And yeah you are right it is crap, but it is good tasting crap :) so I can see how OP likes it!

It's funny, the total ban on Muslims drinking is a recent thing historically speaking. For instance Arak was developed by Muslims and there are parts of Muslim scriptures that seem to have Muhammed drinking. It's only within the last few hundred years that alcohol acquired any sort of taboo in Islam.
