Any brands to look at for dive watches?
I dive a handful of times a year and am looking to get another watch. I'm looking in the $400-500 range.
I actually prefer quartz for the ease, but I wouldn't rule out an auto (especially if it had a dope power reserve hand) but it needs to have a real sapphire crystal, good lum, and a decent dive depth. I'd rather have some stupid high depth rating than get anywhere close to it's max dive depth. And I'd really prefer either a ceramic or sapphire bezel as well.
Any input on where to start?

Steinhart, Chr Ward etc.I really like Steinhart for their looks.
I find the Seiko posted above to be decent but I don't like the feel of the bezel, a bit cheapish.
Kronen & Söhne Imperial 060. A piece of crap watch, about $35 online. Don't buy.
I like Tag Heuer dive watches, but it might be hard to find one in that price range. I switched from quartz to auto with dive watches because all the jewelers I'd use to replace batteries said they would not guarantee the watertight integrity after they open the case back. Made me uneasy.
My Tag aquagraph is the best I've ever had

I really want an Aquaracer but just above 1000 euros, a bit expensive

Maybe you can find a good used one for sale.

Anything with a valjoux 7750 movement is a solid purchase.

Damn, that's like a $500 movement, I don't think I can get anyone to attach the rest of the watch for free.
Thanks for the input guys!

I dropped right at two grand for mine but hands down the best watch I have ever had. uber precise and as long as you wear it a few minutes every other day it never dies, or have a winder then you are set for the rest of your life. well worth it imo..
