I've been looking in to the flat earth theory for a few months now and I admit, there is a lot of compelling evidence that is constantly observable. There are a few things that don't quite add up, but the same is true for the heliocentric model.

In my opinion, there is no reason to be closed minded to anything. I'd rather learn as much as possible -- see all sides of the story and formulate my own opinions.

The Antarctic Treaty, Operation Highjump, Operation Paperclip, and lots of other things are very interesting and do prompt certain questions. Not to mention the obvious bullshittery that NASA has been up to since the 60s.

I would advise everyone to look in to it for yourself and formulate your own opinions.

P.S. It gets even more interesting if you look at the flat earth theory from a biblical perspective.

at height of everest the horizon is 208 miles away. at only 1000 feet the 52 miles away horizon is only 117 feet below horizon, soa skyscraper is easliy visible

add in the refractive effect of air and you easily see things at this distance around the curve of the earth - eg setting sun is seen when below horizon.

Not only is it at different angles from different places on earth (depending on latitude - the curvature of the round earth) but also it is at different angles (very small difference that you need a very fine testing system to detect) at different times of year.

this is basic observational astronomy.

only a globe model can account for why on the same night I can observe the southern cross and the pole star from the equator, but not from higher latitudes.

also, triangulation clearly shows how far stars are away - flat earth model cannot account for the shift in star positions during the year.
