So true, I had the opposite experience. As crazy as this may seem I felt more at ease with my gfs family than my own. Was allowed to drink (im 21 btw but if i do it at home - not getting drunk mindy you, like just a single beer everyone looks at me like if i was a thug), watch a movie with her without being bothered, heck, they even gave me some advice on how to get life together after finishing my degree, unlike the "everything will sort itself out" bulshit I get everyday.
