Okay /b/ros, I'm back for round 2.
>Previous thread: Picked up phone at community recycling event, absolutely sure it belongs to some college chick (not the dude, due to the case). Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, with pattern unlock. Been trying ever since to crack it, 'cos there's a verryyyy good chance there's wins (just look at pic related)
So where we left off, I was trying to load ODIN and flashing CWM onto the phone in download mode, but I've gotten stuck. I feel so fuckin close to finally cracking the stupid thing and sharing the wins with my /b/rothers who help me.
So right now, following the friendly folks over at XDA, I'm trying to flash CWM onto the phone. From there, I should have a custom recovery mode, from which I can flash a .zip via SD containing some technical mumbo jumbo that'll delete the pattern.
>Secondary "update" pic in comments
Things we've covered already:
>Phone did not have telltale smudges to identify finger unlock patterns. Scratches were useless
>No, you can't just plug it into the computer and open up explorer to copy shit over. There wouldn't be a point to passcodes if you could just do that shit.
>99% of password bypass techniques (adb and other linux commands) require the phone to have dev mode enabled, and USB debugging enabled. This phone is bone stock and dev options are unmolested; this prevents me from gaining root access
>I'm not going to shell out money for some fancy tinkerer's USB, or for any other program/device for that matter. It'd ruin the excitement
Help me, /b/retheren, and I'll share all wins that exist on this device.
So this is where I'm stuck. The phone itself is returning some errors, so that'll be posted in the next post with the original timestamp to prove authenticity
>Check those trips of justice
Did that, removed old SIM card, no SD card present
>ugh, forgot to mention that
I've tried at least 100. Seriously, most common alphabetical-style patterns, and for backup pin I tried birth years and simple sequences
>another thing I've forgotten to mention
Althouuugh, if you could find a list or chart of the most common swipes, I'll meander through those.
nope, other than my actual phone.
I haven't done anything with that yet though, because that requires trimming down the sim card to fit, and I don't want to do anything permanent just yet. (micro->nanoSIM)
OP here, I'm terribly confused. Clicking to enlarge brings up a completely different picture than the one I posted. I don't even know who's dick that is.
I'll try again.
If you click emergency, then go to emergency contacts, then click the home button, it apparently goes to the home screen for 0.5 seconds, start tapping away at an app and try to open one.
Actually, that's my last ditch plan. Do a hard reset, and immediately afterwards, I mean in the same minute it boots up, do a recovery scan to salvage anything I can find. But when I'm so close to cracking the root, I don't want to do that until there's absolutely no option left. Probably next week, if anything.
That worked on other phones, but this has proved impossible; can't even see apps on the homescreen, just the background picture (2 girls in a photobooth setting, both qts)
Not quite so much of a lagdroid.
For the most part, google'd exploits and glitches haven't been successful so far. This Android is pretty robust
>No, you can't just plug it into the computer and open up explorer to copy shit over. There wouldn't be a point to passcodes if you could just do that shit.
Sorry fellah, I wish it were that easy. But no, phone companies tend to try to keep things shut
Every phone I have ever plugged into my computer that has a pass code has let me straight into the files, all you have to do is swipe down and choose how the device connects, media sharing etc, then just navigate through the phone through respective drive
Then that's some shitty ass security /b/ro, might want to lock that shit up better. nowadays, I'd wager 95% of phones require the phone to be unlocked before you can see any files in explorer.
Hell, even my chinkshit Asus tablet does that
Yes, yes I have. I have "show hidden folders" enabled too.
1/10 made me reply
but free bump, hey
Brute force the swipe pattern. Because it's a stupid swipe pattern passcode and people are lazy, a lot of people tend to use the same patterns. Try Z and N shapes, usually what lazy people make it.
If you could find a nice compiled list of common patterns, I'd be game to try it out more, but I've run through all I can think of (letters and numbers), including whatever greek (possibly sorority affiliated) characters I can come up with.
I get it, and thanks for the interest, but it kinda sounds like when you kinda know your way around computers and tech support asks you if you know where the start menu is when you're trying to figure out some server configuration stuff
There is, but it requires either a custom recovery mode already loaded (which isn't, 'cos this is bone stock), or USB debugging (this girl wasn't a dev, and doesn't have it enabled)
I'm trying to flash a custom recovery onto it, but I'm getting hung up on the last part of the sequence, where the phone rejects the install (that's what I think is happening)
I don't know what ODIN is because I don't really do phone hacking. I'm more of a deducer. My next suggestions are nw-se-sw-ne following cardinal directions, and all rotations and reverses of said pattern. Also the letter Z. I base this of of it being a probably teenaged girl.
While we're on the topic of brute forcing, which I'm slowly doing while we figure out how to break this shit, it turns out that the phone doesn't even count 1,2, or 3-dot patterns. So I guess I can start with 4-dot permutations and work from there...which still leaves with tens of thousands of permutations..
>not every helpful :(
ODIN, from my understanding, is a toll used to sideload custom packages onto Samsung Androids, via flashing software packages.
But yeah, I've tried the most common letters I've seen. There are still 390XXX possible combos out there though, and there's a chance this owner wanted to protect her wins a little better (more complex patterns)
her pattern in one of these i guarantee it good luck
Can't do shit with adb, adb relies on USB debugging mode to communicate, and that isn't enabled. If I could use adb, I never would've made a thread in the first place, since the adb scripts are posted everywhere.
3 of those don't work, since I have no idea who the previous owner is, and no idea what their email could possibly be.
The other requires a custom recovery installed, if you follow the source, (which I'm trying to do at this very moment, the whole purpose of this thread) and the last is the last resort, but deletes everything.
Does the phone have a delay/hard reset if a certain number of tries are met?
If not, force upload the entire phones memory to an sd card. Load into an android emulator on your pc. Run a brute force script for pin codes. Wait about a week and at some point it'll unlock.
Maybe a bit of a long shot but maybe make a lost and found post on Craigslist or something. Then if you get a hit ask for the swipe pattern to prove it belongs to that person. Download wins before returning the phone.
Yeah no. Not recognized as an emergency number. Like I've said before, most "exploits" and "tricks" aren't working here.
Is there a way to load the entire phone as is into a file, with which I can load into an emulator environment with user-given root access, debugging, and custom recovery?
I've tried every alphabet twisted in all the ways, and greek letters I can think of
The only thing I can think of doing is flashing some kind of custom recovery like clockwork and you will be able to back up all to SD. Don't think it can be installed since debug isn't enabled
It's the thrill of the fiiiight
But nah, there's something a little nicer about digging out the contents out of a seemingly impassible lock. There might not even be nudes on there for all I know, knowing how most girls use snapchat. It's also why I'm not going to spend any money, since I could just stare at the fappening leaks all day anyway, or those "pics u shouldn't share lol" threads
Don't work either :/
Actually yeah, I don't have anything better to do atm. And I figure it's a group puzzle for /b/ to solve
Yes, I'm so mad she kissed Chad that I decided to steal her phone. Now I hide away in my cumcave with my triple layer fedora and hacker trenchcoat
I'm trying to flash the custom recovery at the moment, but its giving me an error, which is OP
Yeah, and there's no switch to camera button, which is what the rest of the exploit requires.
Seems like it...
So the second option that seems to be popular is to run data recovery on the device after factory reset deletes everything. What's the best software with the most comprehensive recovery system?
I hear Dr. Fone, Tenorshare and DiskDigger a lot, but what do you guys know about?
you have a stolen phone, trying to (unsuccessfully) hack it, to see likely non-existant nudes of a girl who probably doesn't even realize you exist. Seems like you've got the fail train rolling
you should be able to get it with this exploit:
or you put the file in an sb card and the media scan should trigger it, or try to send an mms to the phone.
you still need a payload tho...
Not stolen, just the previous owner chucked it without doing a full wipe like basically every other device that you find at community recycle events. The phone was last on Oct 15, 2015.
The rest is true, and there are certainly no brakes on this fail train :)
Airplane mode, removed sim (deactivated anyway), no wifi. I think I'm okay for now. Plus, if the person was looking for it half a year later, they'd probably just wipe the fucker with ADM.
1. Look online for an android sd file manager.
2. Extract to sd card and put in phone
3. Boot into recovery
4. Navigate to file manager apk
6. Navigate to pattern file and delete, or navigate to security setting and disable
Wot is DD
Walk me through this, I'm pretty retarded about mounting images
Also, what's the best disk recovery software, seems a little less complicated while achieving the same result
What's the sim swapping thing? Putting mine in there? Doesn't unlock the phone itself, but it does open it up to the networks.
Putting "her's" in mine? No idea what that'd do, most likely nothing because the SIM is deactivated
I'll look into it, but I sure as hell don't feel like paying anything to use unlocker services.
Nah, don't need to get a sexual harassment charge from the SJW neighbor
It'd be really sweet, wouldn't it?
Nope, I'd much rather factory wipe, and attempt recovery. If not, its not a total loss either, wipe it again and sell it/use it as a dev phone anyway. The wins are just a bonus.
10/10 literal shitpost guy
and yet this is still one of the most interesting things on /b/ in this day and age, that's how low this board has fallen
so stfu nigger
Wait, if you really found this at a community recycling event, we could potentially find the previous owner based off of location and homescreen pics, and then ask them for the passcode. Or threaten the phone if she doesn't give the passcode immediately.
Find something other than a computer that will launch the phone into media mode when connected via USB. A lot of cars do this, and many even have photo viewers. some digital photo frames receive let you just straight up view what photos are on the plugged in device.
Nah, tracking her down is something I don't really care for.
Ain't much to say, my roomies and I avoided most of her ire by slapping a Bernie decal on the door. Pretty unique look, so I'm not going to go there. But just your average patriarchy/black lives matter/twitter activist. Nothing new.
Sounds solid. I'm not particularly invested in the wins tbh, and recovery ought to pull things, if its a good program.
It doesn't look like there's any other way anyway.
aight, thanks for saving this retard.
Dude, she tossed it, she don't give a fuck. And she has no incentive to give up the codes anyway. That's a good way to get backtraced and have the cyberpolice called on you for those always-changing consequences.
And I don't care enough about that anyway. I'd rather not have the extra scrutiny at future recycling events, I've snagged a few neat things (8Gb ipod Touch I use on commutes, so if I get held up, I'll give it over no issue, some chinkshit Asus tablet I use as an e-reader)
most devices are already wiped, but this person was more careless.
Don't really have access to an infotainment system.
WHAT THE FUCK IS A COMMUNITY RECYCLE EVENT
dude pretty sure this girl deleted any scandalous pics BEFORE she abandoned her phone to the general public, notwithstanding the password screen....
...if you're her, don't you delete b4 you toss? think about it
I'm still rooting for you tho
Yes, I just did :^)
Let's get all the specifics out of the way before we begin.
What's the best software/app to recover these files.
If I search for the best recovery app, I get only shills.
So far, I've seen these most shilled:
>dr. fone (using it offline)
Literally google "(your city) recycling event"
And yeah, that's why I'm not going to spend money on this, or get all desperate; there's a good chance she used snapchat only anyway, and those are good as gone. There's just a chance.
But the fact that she didn't do a full wipe tells me that she probably didn't do anything to the device.
Yeah, I've got a cracked version and login from some russian forum site lol
yes Rajant, I also made sure to use the designated shitting street today.
Ayyyy, so you have some experience. What, then, is a software/app that works the best? Remember, the better the software, the better the chance for pulled wins.
(But then again, only if its easy to find a cracked/free and full access version)
That's right, I'm also a JEW
Previous anon said it don't work well though
That would involve getting another identical phone though, something I'm not too invested in.
New emergency number, eh? It'd be interesting if some phone had that as an easter egg
dont wipe it yet! i wiped my s4 mini by accident and lost all my pictures. tried about 10 recovery softwares. it was encrypted though
dr fone was the most comprehensive, you install a helper software on the phone and it has root access through ADB
nigga you made me hungry
no consoles for this poorfag
Now you see why I go to community recycling events to pick up people's old shit for free
Yes, I am stuck on that. Using ODIN, which is up there somewhere.
Friendly anon is prolly going to help me off
The one I'm at is a "dump and run" style thing, which is where people just literally drop off sorted boxes on tables under canopies. So this was under the "portable electronics" canopy, including laptops, phones, tablets, mp3 players, and their accessories. Usually, they keep everything at the end and sell it all a few months later at a sort of flea market, for charity. I just go in there looking like I dropped off something and pick whatever looks intact.
I've Dr. Fone primed already. Can't pull anything, for the reason you mentioned
OP expert hacker here, make sure you have the Odin version mentioned earlier and then try flash this recovery
tbh your bootloader may be locked, if that's the case you need to unlock it before using odin
got the one with orange juice and cookies?
Why don't you format the phone and just restore the images from the cache? I know they still remain there after you delete them and you can use an app to recover them. Would that not work after a formating of the phone?
That's the thread I've been following. Getting hung up on the write part though.
And I'm not familiar with unlocking the bootloader tbh. Half the people tell me that its already unlocked, the other half (on the forums) say that its locked for the forseeable future (if you don't have root access/usb debugging)
The only girl I loved in school loved calzones
She's died before I could become more than friends
It does, in theory. That's my last ditch resort after this thread dies, probably. But, I need leads as to what recovery software or app is best, and that's where I'm stuck. Most say that recovery has a harder time if you begin to write files back onto the disk, but I'd be doing an instantaneous recovery.
>mfw thats a stromboli
this is a calzone
>tbh your bootloader may be locked, if that's the case you need to unlock it before using odin
and my research shows the only unlock for the Verizon model requires installing an APK (towelroot) which you can't do without having the password m8
try drfone it takes about 2 hours to do a deep scan tho but it will find heaps
i found like 20 pics of chinese people in a factory, this was after using the phone for about 2 years
expert hacker out
Alrighty, does recovery expert have more to say other than resoldering the NAND?
Also, thanks for your help e1337 haxX0rz
Do the cracked versions work fully as long as you stay offline?
no just a folder
i wouldnt mind that pic but the fucking milk is triggering me
thank fuck i was worried something wasn't repulsive enough
i have 1 more thing to say, it's to re-evaluate the life and think about why you are spending so much time looking for nudes of some average girl on her old phone
perhaps these kinds of activities are perpetuating a view of women that requires your only 'interactions' with them to be like the one in this thread
at this point i would assume he's doing it for the thread
wonderful i devour it every morning>>699061442
And also these aren't the only 'interactions' I have with them
I also think of ways to sneak cams into shower vents, wank off outside their windows at night, stare and drool at their tiddies in public, and sometimes I go to a crowded bar/club in my triple lined fedora and trench coat and grope a few asses so I can cum in my pants
Tbh the only time another human is going to touch my penis is when I cut it off with a knife and kill myself after shoving it in my mouth, requesting open casket wake :)
lolno, I have a normie phone
lmao never seen the sauce for the pic >>699061938
dat timing - i'm out of gourmet cooking pics
im gonna make some shit-tier toasties back in a little bit
ok this is the last one
Don't worry, I'm not about to commit fraud. I'm just peeking for wins and then wiping it anyway, so I have a phone to fuck with that's not my main. I also have a voyeuristic complex; reading someone's private chats and shit, even if its mundane as fuck, is exciting to me. Not even sexually.
Fuck, maybe I should just hold onto this and apply to the NSA :)
Question still stands though
>what recovery software do I use?
I've got a few recommendations for dr. fone, and a few against.
The pay is shit, the hours are long, and sometimes you have to talk to people though. Literally this is the only thing keeping me both awake and somewhat sane.
But tbh I'm sick of trying to brute force it.
Correct! That really narrows down the population though, oh boy. Now someone's going to find out who I am, since there are figuratively 2 users of WP out there.
Good luck man
so is op going to deliver, or can i go to sleep
TBH it's not that bad. I don't use 90% of apps that are out there, and the firmware and hardware are both excellent. At least, back when they were still made under Nokia.
It also runs smooth as fuck :)
Hold on another hour and a half. Half an hour to try this one last thing, and then an hour to do the wipe and recovery.
This is basically the issue from the beginning of the thread though. ODIN is getting hung up.
I'll give it another shot.
ANYWAY FOLKS, SORRY TO KEEP Y'ALL WAITING, IT'S RECOVERY TIME.
THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE THERE WON'T BE SHIT LEFT POST RECOVERY, AS /G/ ASSURES ME. DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP!
SO THAT'S MY DISCLAIMER.
i can dump my remi folder
that counts as gourmet right?
I've had to deal with this type of shit before, forensics etc. Use some youtube video or tut somewhere online to copy the WHOLE android partition and turn it into an image file (not like a jpg/png) standard android image file is .bin. Pirate software called Passware Kit Forensic and you should be able to recover a password from the android image file. Good luck OP.
by cooincidence all my friends and I have the same pass, worth a try
rip this thread, nice knowing you gourmetguy>>699067544
have a nice life stromboli guy>>699067649
