It's just a matter of time before Obama makes $15 an hour mandatory for companies to pay out just because a bunch of whiny liberal shitheads failed at life and refuse to do anything about it other than bitch.
Fuck this country. I predict by 2020, it will be illegal not to be a liberal and cops will be armed with water pistols instead of guns. We wouldn't want those innocent black people who contribute so much to our society to continue getting shot.
>>599368059 Well, given that the minimum wage was, at it's inception, designed so that a single worker, making minimum wage, could pay for a house and a family...and now it can't even pay for a small rental apartment....
You're a retarded cunt and deserve to be neutered.
I quit my job as a department manager at walmart a few months ago. I was making $11 an hour, took a pay cut to work somewhere that I enjoyed more. Now I hear they're bumping department managers up to $13/hour. God damn.
It's 100% ironic that Conservatrash can hold this kind of contempt for people they think are beneasth them when basic economics, math, Earth science, etc. COMPLETELY elude their entire worthless party. You people deserve to have your voting rights revoked and be electroshocked.
Basically other businesses, whether it be grocery stores or any other retail outlets offer better starting wages than Walmart and the work is generally easier. I work at Walmart unfortunately but havent been there long. My Walmart for the most part seems very understaffed, yet everyone I know says our walmart is pretty nice compared to others. The thing is, Walmart/management could easily afford to hire more people but that would cost more money. Why hire 3 associates when you can have 1 associate do the work of those three? This is also why the turn around rate at our walmart is high. No one sticks around to get butt fucked by being over worked for 20 cents over minimum wage. This in turn makes our managers have to pick up the slack. Once the managers cant keep up then corporate has a problem. This raise is most likely a give in to keep some associates around. I'm sure there's some red tape included to the raise that we dont see but yeah this is all my guess.
>>599369693 Come and do it. The difference between us and you is that we built this country and you people walked up to the table like cowering dogs begging for our scraps. You can talk all that big game but what are you going to actually do?
>>599369382 Why don't they deserve a livable wage? We can't all be CEOs and doctors. We will always need someone to stock our shelves and deliver our pizzas and pump our gas. Stop thinking people deserve to starve to death in the streets because they work in the service industry.
>>599370121 >We can't all be CEOs See folks, this right here is the liberal American youth. Instead of striving to be the people who they complain about having all the money, they instead just say "nah, I could never be that... I deserve more money."
>>599369730 They said department manager. Department manager isnt even management when it comes to Walmart. You have a little more say in very little things and get paid 2 bucks more than what you were previously at. Actual management makes salary, which im sure is still shit pay.
>>599369382 "Strive for more" is incredibly vague. Strive for more that? What if they are happy working retail at Wal-Mart? Does that mean they should not be able to pay their bills and at least have a home to live in and food to eat?
Just admit that you enjoy looking down on service industry workers to feel better about your own shitty life.
This nation is what is is because secularists and liberals created it, fought tooth and nail for equal rights, wages, working conditions, etc.
The only things modern conservatives created are massive debt, a crippling income inequality and the outsourcing epidemic.
Name me ONE fucking thing that "conservatives" have done or contributed to since 1978. Do it. you can't. No one can. The GOP has been DEAD since Reagan and is nothing but a gaggle of biblethumping retards sucking on its corpse.
>>599370882 Former McDonalds, WalMart and Arbys worker here.
McDonalds workers deserve it a hell of a lot more. The work is fucking stressful at times, especially during lunch rush. Fatasses gotta have their supersized combo meals in a hurry and there's strict time limits for getting shit out the window (at least when I worked there)
At McDonalds, if there was a problem, you just had some friendly chatter and waited for the CSM to come over and basically take care of it for you.
>>599370498 Where the fuck did he say he deserved more money? And his point was no less true. We literally all cannot be CEOs and lawyers and doctors. Are you honestly going to tell me we can? Who would do the grunt work?
So much bait or ignorance. I'll bite. Companies abuse minimum wage, they'll keep employees part time but give them full time hours to avoid giving benefits. Many people in the service industry are students trying to pay rent along with tuition. Others are simply stuck there because there are no other jobs around. It's not easy getting a job in every industry today, especially if you live in certain areas.
You idiots act like you're from India where you're forced to live a certain life. In India, if you're born poor, you have to remain poor for your entire life. You're not allowed to do anything else.
In America, you're born and you can do whatever the fuck you want. If you don't have everything you want in your life, it's your fucking fault. If you're not working the job you want, earning the pay you want, fucking the girl you want, it's your fucking fault. Hollywood and American liberal ideals have instilled in your mind that you deserve shit for no reason.
It doesn't work like that. No one's going to hand you anything.
Minimum wage for a full time job should cover the cost of living for the area. No more no less. Anyone who says other wise has probably never had to deal with poverty and should shut their over privileged mouth and quit relying on their parents to cover rent
>>599371545 >cont. With the current minimum wage it impossible to survive off. People are forced to go into debt because of it. Prices are increasing and the minimum wage is not, there's an obvious problem here.
Here's what kills me about those "my cost of living" people. When I worked patrol, I lived in a relatively small town of poor people.
Every time I went out to check on a domestic dispute or noise complaint, whether it was a trailer park or shoddy run down home, they all had one thing in common.
They had nicer shit in them than I had in my own home.
>Nice TVs - Check >Fridge full of expensive groceries - Check >Electronics and gadgets I couldn't afford - Check
These people had no money to their name and bitched about the necessities but yet had so much nice shit. This wasn't one home but nearly every home I visited in a very poor community had so much nice stuff in it. Blew my mind.
>>599371917 Well you just pulled something out of your ass... Like the glorious faggot OP always is. Put a citation or shut the fuck up. CEO makes 30 million a year but can't pay an employee $15 an hour without raising prices? Bullshit.
>>599368059 Do you think a minimum wage job should at least be enough to cover the barest of necessities? With population growth going the way it is your shitty children will be stuck with this or the army.
>>599371869 Fuck you, I fucking worked my ass off, went in to a shit ton of debt and gave up a whole hell of a lot to get out of poverty. And you're trying to say that some nigger working at Walmart with no training, skills, or school deserves what I worked my ass off for?
>>599370729 The baby boomers, the generation that literally had everything handed to them. You want to bitch about a generation, bitch about the generation that could walk into an office, fill out an application and get a state job that day that provided retirement, benefits, full insurance, vacation and did not require any college at all. But no, this generation has it is easy because Shit-Mart is throwing a couple extra pennies n hour their way.
Whatever minimum wage is now, all over North America, is not a livable wage. Minimum wage is SUPPOSED to be for like teenagers just working a shitty job and complete idiots, but a lot of people have to work minimum wage jobs even though they have a degree, or experience, or children to feed, whatever. That's the issue. Even $15 an hour is pretty low, that only brings in $30 000 a year and that's not much, so calm down the right wing opinions for a sec and just think about it.
>>599372320 Oh holy christ you are one of the 99% morons.
I don't know how many employees WalMart has but it's probably well over 100,000. For the benefit of the doubt, I'm just going to say they only have 100,000.
100,000 x $15 is $1,500,000 His salary is gone if those people work 20 hours in a year.
He earns his salary because he's the face of the company. Instead of bitching about it like some entitled piece of shit, why don't you fucking do something about it? Jesus Christ liberals are so fucking stupid.
>b-b-ut the CEO makes Yeah and you're talking about a company that employees hundreds of thousands of people.
Capitalism does a lot of good but it also has a tendency to cause instability in the economy. Regulation does its best to require things like quality of service, tracking cost differential, stopping monopolization, etc., which allows the growth potential without as big a hit to the economy. It works quite well.
The bad news is that fucking braindead republicunts were told the lie "regulations are bad no matter what" for years and years and now they want the fully destabilized version, which is known as "Laissez Faire" capitalism. It's an extremely dangerous thing.
>>599372766 >There's intelligent people working minimum wage jobs Sorry, no.
If you work in a minimum wage job, you're not an intelligent being and you deserve to be there. If you're in your 20s and you still make burgers or stock shelves, your life is a failure and you have no hope for the future. You will always be a worthless drone scraping by on pennies because you're fucking lazy and refuse to do anything about your pathetic life.
>>599372552 >The edge No fuckface What they're telling you is that you shouldn't have had to go into debt like that in the first place. Minimum wage should cover the cost of minimum living not force you into debt.
"Since 2007, while millions of Americans were having their homes confiscated and jobs eliminated, the fortune of the six Waltons on the Forbes 400 list has more than doubled to an astounding $148.8 billion."
"The Waltons have these riches thanks to the hard work of their own employees and all of us taxpayers. Based on recent estimates, taxpayers subsidize Walmart as much as $3 billion per year. Instead of paying workers enough to survive, the Waltons take billions from Walmart every year, while driving their workers on to food stamps and other public assistance."
Paying people a decent wage saves Americans money at the cost of people who have literally 100s of billions... BILLIONS, of dollars. Fuck off.
He's paraphrasing the fact that "Mcjobs" such as fast food and basic retail used to be for teens who were just starting out in life. The median and modal ages of these workers has skyrocketed however as the cost of living increases over time while the epidemic of outsourcing labor to Third World nations has peaked over the US workforce.
I'm thinking of trying to get a job at walmart and then trying to transfer to the distribution center a couple towns over when i can. Fuckers start out at 16 an hour, and max out at 20 an hour, and get incentive pay.
>>599373036 Funny because those jobs used to provide a living wage and people were able to pay their way through college.
Now we got privileged fucks with no concept of reality and economics expecting people to flip burgers for a sliver of a fraction compared to the companies who pocket the profit. I hope someone spits in your food.
>>599368059 For every Walmart in the US it costs the tax payers a million or more dollars a year, due to Walmarts low wages and part time hours with the rest being made up by social programs. There are 4516 walmarts in the US, that is 4.5 billion a year minimum they cost the tax payer.
>>599368059 Well I worked as a cashier in sams club, which is owned by walmart. I was constantly harassed by management to increase sales to the point I actually became pretty damn good at it. I held #1 in sales (district wide) for three months before I became eligible for benifits, and I was working so many hours that regulations were about to force promote me to full time. I didn't get any raises no matter how well I did, and they fired me the day I could sign up for benefits.
If people could go work at Walmart and make living wage they would have better society in no way except some fat lady would find it easier to be directed towards the spaghettiOs. But if they have incentive to go to college so they can make money we end up with people curing cancer, not stocking ramen
>>599372552 That's the thing though. You didn't work any harder than anyone else. Everyone thinks they work so much harder than everyone else. You don't know shit about that nigger's situation, maybe he breaks his neck at Wal-Mart day in and day out. Just admit you have an innate craving to look down on others to feel better about your own shitty life.
>>599374396 Yeah that's why there are 50+ year olds who are still struggling to pay off student loans? Cause it's "not real debt" >I owe someone money >I am in debt Unless you are really fucking dumb you understand that that is what debt is
>>599375667 It doesn't work like that dumbass. If they give 100,000 workers $2 more an hour. The cost of their services, goods or taxes to the people will go up. Money doesn't fucking come from nowhere you stupid autist liberal arts major reject.
Do you think all those Government benefits are just magically printed?
Correct. Second biggest expense in that department is disproportinately given to red states to supplement the fucktarded conservatrash's welfare.
You have to love how the majority of every form of federal supplementation is consumed by republicans and yet the republicans cling to the myth that liberals are freeloaders, despite the FACT that there is a strong, direct correlation between higher education and liberalism. FUCKING MORONS.
>>599375168 Well if no one works any header than anyone else why aren't you a neuro surgeon making 500,000+ a year. Cause that would have been no harder than going to work at Walmart and your make more money.
>>599369208 It is a starter job but I also think they should make more. People who make three times as much who do far far less. But definitely not a career job unless you are seeking to become management.
>>599376229 What have you done to get someone out of poverty in the last year? You personally. That's right, not a damn thing. Conservatives give more to charity every year than do liberals. So who hates poverty?
>>599375958 The cost to the consumer will only go up if the people at the top want to continue to rake in billions. They dont need to make 16 billion a year, even if they made up the 4.5 billion a year they cost us they would still earn 11.5 billion a year...why is this so hard for you to fucking understand?
>>599368059 I work for walmart. I learned today of this raise. I think it's cool. The company itself is realizing it's not just the customers. Without the employees theres nothing the custoemrs can buy. The place would be a wreck. They are simply saying "Thank You" I look forward to my $9 raise and next year it hitting $10. I will alos be applying for a small management possition at the end of next month and that pays above $13 an hour. I don't see why you are mad? I work hard here, working at walmart doesnt mean youre a window licking door greater. I work in grocery and have to stock thousands of items ina specific place every day. I have to deal with ignorant customers. I do believe I bring a lot to the table. When I get caught up in my work I have to go help other departments get caught up in thiers. I believe the raise is a good thing for Walmart to do to boost morale. And it helps employees like me, who have to scrape the small paycheck just to pay bills. the only people who are amd at this are the people who think theyre better than everyone and deserve to get paid for sitting at home.
>>599374897 It would be better though, I don't see why it matters so much when the pay gap between min and collage wages would still be oceans apart. The only difference is less people in poverty, but I guess you just don't like that idea.
>>599374069 >>599374346 I spent two years in community college for my basics, paid in full with academic scholarships. Then I had my engineering degree at University of Louisville paid in full with more scholarships.
I ended up about $1500 short the first semester at UofL and that was the only dime I paid out of pocket.
Thanks to the job I worked full time that matched my pay and sent it to my uni, I graduated with more money than when I started.
Taking a loan is like waiting until the last minute to start a paper or project. You're setting yourself up to fail
>>599368059 First off walmart has consistently paid most of their entry level workers above minimum wage. with that being said this pay will only come after 6 months and even fewer associates are going to get full time. Not to mention the "my share" quarterly associate bonuses and discount cards are probably gonna get cut too.
so thats slightly more pay, less hours, less incentives. But its not like most of you have jobs so why the fuck do ya'll care
No you can't. You are the world's easiest, dumbest demoraphic to manipulate.
Think about this: you are stupid enough to believe 1 channel that claims the other 30+ are biased when the 30+ are collectively telling you, showing you and PROVING to you that the 1 is completely full of shit. That's some POWERFUL retardation.
>>599374712 You bitch quite a bit about liberals, yet like a good little republicunt, offer no solutions whatsoever. What is your suggestion? Should we all just borrow money from our millionaire daddies and open sweatshops?
>>599377277 Is that why News Corp is one of the biggest media corporations? You're fucking dumb, and that proves the other guy's point. You are so lied to you think your rhetoric is unpopular. Why don't you turn on the TV or scroll through your grandma's Facebook?
