give me underrated films /b/
Watched this shit a few days ago, brilliant. I'll say Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, watched that the day before Edge of Tomorrow so they're still fresh in my mind. New Godzilla was boring I thought.
This movie rules, so do the sequels.
You are shit.
I fucking hate brad pitt
I checked it out on imdb. Some shit about the villagers' pact with creatures being broken
how is it not underrated?
I really liked the way they made this movie. I was so anxious about the end, I hoped they wouldn't fuck it up with an "everyone gets out miraculously, they fall in love and live happily everafter" ending
getting mixed signs here
There are those movies that I watch, and I have to watch the credits for minutes, just thinking about how good it was, not wanting it to end, and this was one of them. The Gladiator and Inception were similar. I know people shit on Inception because of how popular it was, but it's a very well done film
The Skin I Live In.
It's in Spanish, but it's a really good movie. Kind of a mind fuck. Don't look it up before you watch it, just marvel in the twisted plot.
Also Machete Kills is good, too.
Well I like it, guess some people didn't take too kindly to the pacing (which is pretty languid) and the bursts of violence.
I think the whole neo-noir thing was perfect, the soundtrack fit brilliantly, and Refn's visual style is always good (see Bronson or Only God Forgives).
I just recorded this sound clip, if you had to make that into a movie, purely based on th clip, what would you name the movie?
>but it's a very well done film
This. Especially the end's interpretative subtlety. It was a lot better than i was expecting.
Also, the 1984 version of Dune.
i like it too this day
>Edge of Tomorrow
Ya almost got me.
Manga was better
Epic picture man. I think this will be my new desktop background.
Great fucking movie!
so much this
E of T is a very cool movie, numnuts. What's wrong? Not sciency enough for you?
>Commercials every five minutes for a month
>90% Certified Fresh (40+ Reviews Fresh) Tomatometer
>$369.2 million Box Office
You lost me OP.
I never heard of this movie when it was in theaters but it's excellent. Val Kilmer is a boss. An old, fat boss now but a boss never the less.
Lucky Number Slevin
here you are
I call that underrated when a trash movie like The Aspergers gets fucking one and a half billion box office.
>pic related look at this autistic piece of shit, you have to be 10 years old if you enjoy this
exceptionally good, and a good stone watches also!
Oh, and this
Best movie ever, no one knows it.
Why can't I hold all these opinions?
how about this?
Seriously, if you haven't seen "Side Effects", Watch it immediately.
This movie was Forrest Gump without the charm and with absolutely no point to it. They didn't even go into what everyone wanted to see, which was what happens when you have an older, experienced mind and a younger, stronger body.
You're right. They should've just blue-balled the audience by spending the entire movie building up to a reveal and then be all like "nah, fuck you".
>People suggesting movies that cost hundreds of millions to make, were heavily marketed, or were critically acclaimed classics as "underrated films"
It's like you don't even understand the meaning of words.
Pro-tip: If it appears in the IMDB top 250, it's not fucking underrated.
Some very bad acting, a horrible script, a dead-eyed CGI Kurt Russell that will give you nightmares, but I still really like this film.
It's the soundtrack and the beautiful action sequences.
This has to be the most retarded post in this whole thread.
Many people consider that movie to be THE PEAK of cinema and put it in their top 3/5 of all time.
The older villagers are the creatures, they dress as them to stop the younger ones from going out becouse they thin the world is corrupted, also it takes place in 1960s or 70s or some shit
Avatar: The last air bender
Avatar: Legend of Korra
Bait or not, don't care, I want to see this shit because Christopher Nolan is the man, fuck you weiners who disagree.
It is underrated if it's fucking brilliant, and gets about 20% of the attention and box office of trash tier pleb movies like the avengers, captain america and all that shit, while being superior in every single aspect
>doesn't understand review aggregation
This movie raped niggers. The scene where the dude gets shot up with Slo-Mo and thrown off the roof, fucking bad-ass. Original Stallone/Rob Schneider Judge Dredd is also a classic.
Man of Steel is my shit.
yep, that was not as bad as everyone made out
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
>needs the opinion of hipster faggots to decide whether or not a movie is worth it
It was exactly the same as the first movie.
All the Alien movies suck so much ass.
That movie is overrated like a motherfucker. Every film geek I know was praising it. I watched it. It's a total piece of shit. The premise is so goddamn stupid that it defies belief. Every single fucking scene only compounds the problem of the premise. The twist at the end might be the second dumbest thing I've ever seen in a movie.
I cannot understand how this got made, and less how people like it.
>goddammed determined to show everyone what a tard he is
I used the aggregate opinion of hundreds of film critics to determine how a movie was rated. It doesn't have anything to do with my opinion of the movie - I haven't even seen it.
Miles better than the first one.
more comedy gold, unless your name is Bug
Well the name of the book is "A Princess of Mars"
and was published in 1917. Way before Superman and Star wars... which this movie basically was.
>M. Night Shyamalan
>It's like you're not even trying
>nearly every movie is sci-fi
>nearly every movie involves the characters wearing some type of space-aged suit
Sure is autistic 15 year olds in here.
pro-tip: There has never been a quality sci-fi movie. Even Star Wars was shit, it was just impressive for its time.
I forgot to put an underrated movie.
Who the fuck cares ?
This one does have a good rating but i am throwing it in here sine so few people seem to have heard of it
It manages to be good despite ben afflek, it has a load of dialogue but it is sharp as fucking tacks
go buddy christ
If you like the sci fi and haven't seen this then watch it immediately.
Not a horror fan but I fucking love this movie. Amazing story line.
fuck me i forgot the pic
This movie was good.
This or Phone Booth
As for your spoiler, the best part about the movie isn't the ending.
Dude where is this from? Been looking for this in ages. Is this the same thing they go running in the dark and the survivor gets money or something? Couldve been a music video
>Edge of Tomorrow
No one posted this yet? Pic related...
Best war movie ever made.
>laughably bad reading comprehension
>realizes he's a mongoloid
>"wot who cares m8"
You've got me there, guy. Certainly not me.
you fucking moron. you total fucking moron. please, get someone to read OP's post to you before you make more of a fool of yourself.
i liked how this was filmed.
not into movies idk if its underated lol
well I've seen The Raid 1 and 2
so I've seen the movies this shitty film is based off
oh also Raid 2
that movie is a fucking masterpiece
Go fuck yourself. OP posts fucking E of T as an underrated movie. Apparently fucking edgy teen faglords in this thread have some distorted image of what underrated means.
one of the most unsettling movies I have ever seen
that goes for the entire blood and ice cream trilogy
Great movie.. too bad no one saw it
Home Room. Erika Christensen. Busy Phillips. Guarantee it's not predictable. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264689/
man, you shut your fucking faggot fuck hole of a mouth, you piece of shit. who the fuck do you think you are, replying to me? no one gave your permission to do that
Not to kill, just to maim. A little off the knee.
No Blade Runner? best underrated movie of all time.
aka the movie I always post in underrated movie threads
MOTHERFUCKER THATS WHAT THE EVIL NAZI PICTURE IS FROM. I've had that picture on my computer for fucking years and i've been trying to find out where it's from. I'ma watch that shit right now. I'm about to eat a roast chicken and I don't need those evil war vibes but this movie looks dope.
>pic related it's that evil nazi picture
Most underrated Sci-fi movie there is.
I liked everything before freeman's reveal. Seeing cruise alone working on the droids and at his hideout was awesome, but couldn't get past freeman or his awful fake wife.
Weimar master race studios reporting in
I guess that's your opinion. I can back up my statement. Not a single thing or event in the film makes a shred of sense in the context of the premise.
I could start with nit-picky shit, like how the fuck is there a fat black lady in the poor section of train after being fed 17 years of nothing but protein?
I could point out the technical problems with a train that needs apparently no fuel and no maintenance moving non-stop for 17 years. Not to mention the tracks and bridges that wouldn't survive 17 years of neglect and erosion.
I could point out political metaphor fails because there's no reason for the wealthy to keep the poor around because there's no manufacturing needed or possible except for the one guy who's job it is to make food for the poor. If they need a constant supply of kids small enough to make the engine run "manually" whatever the fuck that means, it invalidates the entire point the film gives of making the train in the first place.
I could point out that people live in conditions like that on earth now. Did everyone's insulation completely fuck up?
If the train is basically a perpetual motion machine not take the train off the rails and put it somewhere where it can be a goddamn power station?
How the fuck do you get train encircling entire globe through the worst winter ever from the premise of we fucked up the solution to global warming and everything's cold now?
now it is, and even then i don't think it's universally loved by the masses.
it didn't do well when it came out, but it did influence a lot of subsequent work by other people.
really, the movie is pretty damn boring and slow. it's like a reverse terminator set in firefly but without the good parts
don't even know if it's underrated
the whole damn movie takes places with only a couple of actors in a single house and with improvised script, pretty neat
Moon, excellent sci-fi film
And who the fuck gave you permission to stop sucking your fucking boyfriends cock to come here and post your shitty fucking opinion? Go be a good faggot at get back to being his little bitch.
Ben Affleck is good. Dazed and Confused, The Town, Mallrats, I like him.
what's 4chan's stance on guardians? Even without looking at the replies I already knew that this would be considered bait. Is it considered commercial as fuck or something? I thought it was a little too disney and campy but overall enjoyed it.
>no mention of this
amercunts should love this one
love this movie. especially the soundtrack
...the manga wasn't the source material and was essential promotional bullshit for the movie. It was clear that they just threw something together in a rush.
If you had said the LN, the source material, I wouldn't be calling you out, but you're just being a faggot
oh look, you used a gif of an overrated shit-tier actor to go with your shit opinions. totally not surprised, faggotron. how's it feel to be so mediocre. oh, i know: bland.
Genius film that will keep you awake for the entirety and give a honest and historical representation of class crisis.
soundtrack is beautiful, the story is awesome, the actors are superb, severely underrated movie.
>the man who killed hitler
knowing that much about history
well majority of my friends haven't seen this- so i'm assuming it's underrated.
It was a critical success but didn't do well domestically. A lot of money was made up in the international market, including in Japan where the source material came from and they renamed the film to match that title.
By the way, Tom Cruise is more closely related to box office poison at this point. He doesn't draw crowds or convince people to see a movie they're on the fence about.
plain bad movie
but the book is not that great either
it's called "redemption" in clapistan
also this, the libertine...
Its the only Johny Depp movie which Johny Depp himself would watch. At least thats what he said...
