For decades, Pluto was the ninth planet in our solar system. And then one day, it suddenly wasn't a planet anymore. Nothing about its size, mass, composition, speed, orbit, or mass changed. But it just instantaneously stopped being a planet. It is this mystery that science cannot explain, and which stands as undeniable proof of the work of a supernatural being.

No sources and I might even be incorrect whe I say this.

Plus, we, our bodies, our atoms are part of the universe. We were created in it. We question the universe. If you connect those facts causally, then the universe created a being that questions the universe. The universe created something to question itself. It got selfconscious.

The size of this galaxy never ceases to amaze me. Ic 1101 is larger than our local galactic cluster. It isn't just larger than most galaxies, it actually dwarfs the gap between them by several times. In the picture, the specs of light in front of it are entire galaxies. It's size is just unreal. Over 100 trillion stars, over 6 million light years across. Yet it's just one of many super-galaxies.

It's relevant because the discussion was about whether there is a point in attempting to understand the "meaning of the universe." I said physical reality because I'm high, but what I really meant is reality as defined by the way time and distance is perceived on Earth. There is no point looking for meaning in anything abstract using language), which means there is no point looking for it using thoughts ("understanding"

I don't know or care. It's just obvious that language forms thoughts, and language can't deal with inhuman abstractions such as what happens to time and distance on a cosmic scale. Therefore any meaning found in existence that can be expressed in thoughts (words) is going to be flawed and unrelated to reality. There's simply no evidence the brain can conceive of even a tiny portion of what makes up reality, let alone find a coherent meaning that holds it all together.

Can you paraphrase it for someone who doesn't study physics ?

When galaxies collide, individual stars almost never collide. It is just as if the galaxies pass right through each other. Those great big pretty cities of stars astronomers photograph in the night sky are mostly made of empty space. The average distance between stars in our galaxy is around 160 billion km (100 billion mi). That is analogous to one ping-pong ball every 3.2 km (2.0 mi).

But gravity means they often lose their structure - they may be strung out into a stream of stars and gas several hundreds of millions of light years long, or one galaxy may eventually be engulfed by the other. This process takes hundreds of millions to billions of years. Our own galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy are on a collision course with each other, but it won't happen for another 4 billion years.

Pretty hard to explain in ordinary words...
First there was true and absolute vacuum in the lowest possible state of energy, then, for some reason it escalated to a higher state of energy (pic related), and our universe was born. It is still a vacuum, but less stable and with higher energy. That means it could return to its inital state at any given point, creating a bubble of true vacuum that would consume our universe at the speed of light.
