Is there anything cringier than announcers mentioning how many meltz stars a wrestler has? Nothing screams bingo hall more to me. Imagine if at survivor series 97 they had yelled "AND REMEMBER LAST MONTH BRET'S OPPONENT SHAWN HAD A FIVE STAR MATCH WITH THE UNDERTAKER" or if when Scott Hall had appeared for the first time on Nitro, their first words were "WOAH! IS THAT THE GUY WHO HAD A FIVE STAR MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA X???"

Do announcers do this now? Sounds like someone Stryker would do

>uhhh...well yeah, its-its not the greatest place in the world to live. But, yknow, the rent is free and.....let me find my notes..... and uh theres a lot of space here and the rent is free, so yeah. it is what it is...

You know he's not even critiquing Dave, right?

Wow sounds just like him. Guess your subbed for $11.99?

>admitting you're illiterate
Life must be difficult.

The thread is about shitty commentators using a columnists opinion as part of their commentary.

My $11.99 always goes to Dave Meltzer!

It's more than that. It's hinting that the whole thing is just a performance. Calling Shawn Michaels "Mr. WrestleMania" when his record at WM is terrible is basically saying, "this is just a performance." We all wink at each other and we know it's all a show but I hate how little they care about protecting it now.

>Listen to Meltzer say he didn't like the KO getting his ass kicked by Shane segment or Ziggler sperging out
>Comment section is filled with people complaining about what Dave said and saying that the segments were good and bring up Meltzer liking PWG/NJPW for no reason.
Holy shit, WWE really did turn their fans into cult members, you say anything bad about Vince or his shitty storylines and they'll immediately try to defend WWE
