The whole concept of wrestling now is to beat your opponent so much that they either give up from pain or knock them out cold for at least three seconds. Her original gimmick was that of an awkward fan. The Bayley shown in the gif. is after she evolved near the end of her NXT run. Even then the only thing carrying her was the narrative of her defeating Bojack. When the Horses were called up she looked like a chump in all of her feuds and wrestled like a chump without the horse from "Horsing Around" to carry her.
