Eddie was a solid draw. He just so happened to be champion when ratings were already declining and the blame was dumped on him. If you want to blame anyone blame HHH and Lesnar. They were the stars of their respected brands when the company started going to shit.

HHH was definitely an anti-draw especially compared to his predecessors - he was the reason I tuned out shortly after 2003, RVD and Booker were the guys I really liked on RAW but Haitch was so formulaic and lame. I remember the feeling of disappointment a lot of fans had seeing H as the top guy once it was clear Austin and Rock weren't coming back. People really resented Rock for 'going Hollywood' even though it turned out he was right leave when he did.
