There has never been a story of Suzuki injuring a single trainee. He might be a dickhead but he's never actually fucked someone up, and they go into it knowing he's going to go hard on them and it's going to hurt, but they don't come out of it injured. Sexy Star shot on someone who wasn't expecting it in a match and legitimately fucked up their arm for no reason.

Suzuki is old school. You have to weed out the weak through harsh training. He survived getting stretched by Fujiwara (the ultimate stretcher), Inoki and Maeda just as they survived getting stretched by Gotch and co. He knows that if you want to make it you have to be tough both physically and mentally.

It's not his fault some of these kids aren't cut out to be pro-wrestlers, or that the business has got pussified.
