If you were to do a pre tacticool era kit, which one would you do?

I'd probably do a kit based around the Congo instability and the mercenaries hired by many companies to protect their investments. They're pretty aesthetic and unique for airsoft kits.

I sprayed my front grips with this dark red to make it a bit similiar to the original plum color.

I am planning to buy regular wood grips, so I fugured, why not try doing this?
So what are your opinions?

I wanted it to be more like random lines and stuff like here, tried to use a brush, but it didn't work out.
>glossy
Yeah, it's a bit glossy, not that much though.
>>
Is the ASP SVU decent for its price? I want an eastern gun but also stay away from the typical AK
>>
I'd probably either do a WW2 SAS kit, a vietnam SASR kit or some kind of '70s NI british kit, depending on who I wanted to annoy that day.
>>
I would do a setup like the paratroopers the night before D-day in 1944.

The thing is, it just doesn't appeal to me. I see no reason to doll myself up in outdated gear, or even modern gear to play toy guns. I stick with a dark t shirt and whatever pants I grabbed first that day.
>>
>>3041970
I understand your position but BDUs are like work clothing so I don't have to worry about tearing jeans I wear outside of airsoft and gear helps with carrying magazines and things I'd need on the field. Only time I'd ever forgo any of that is if I was doing shitqb that day
>>

Rhodie kit of course

I want to turn one of those airsoft muskets into a sniper rifle.

Please kill me.
>>
Did airsoft ever lose its luster to any of you? Did any of you ever just feel like it isn't fun anymore? I'm starting to get like that I think. What was your reason? I don't know what mine is for sure, but It just seems like it's dead to me. How did you get your drive back?
>>
>>3042591
I think you just need to do more with it. If you don't it's gonna get boring. Try a different play style, different gear, different fields. Just change things around a little.
>>
>>3042591
Half the fun for me is the gear, if I just wanted to shoot people paintball would be superior because hits aren't an honour system in it, but with paintball you don't get cool looking gats and cool gear. Also muh immersion. I'd try what >>3042616 said and play differently since the same style over and over is boring eventually.
>>
>>3042591
If you go out every weekend then yeah it's going to get pretty boring pretty quick. Just take a little break, maybe save up and go to an op at MSW or AMS, etc.
>>
>>3042591
This happened to me when I started working for an airsoft shop / field. Depending on the reason for it getting boring. You might not get your love for the hobby back. you might have just outgrown it, or your local scene.
>>
>>3042591
I really go all out on the fields so I get that runners high/adrenaline rush. Nothing beats that second wind where you go from almost toppling over to amphetamine tier performance.
>>
>>3040812
I already have a Vietcong kit that I haven't gamed yet. But I'm also getting a full wood M14 soon so a Vietnam grunt kit will probably come next for me. I also tried doing a Congo kit like >>3041019 mentioned but the shirt I bought ended up being too small and I kind of forgot to grab another and the rest of my bits. Congo kits are actually pretty simple, and for me it would just be another reason to use my MP40.
>>
>>3042616
This is the reason why I bought my JAG scattergun. Holding down areas with 6 shot bursts and 3 shot longer range shots while racking the pump is very satisfying.
>>

220 dollarydoo rifle. with cheaper ones you have to work with lax tolerances and externals and internals visibly wearing when you disassemble and assemble it. It's much more fun to work with a rifle when you know that the screw holes are dead center on the parts you need to fit and your workdesk is free of metal shavings.
>>
>>3047445
Not necessarily.

>>3046006
Depends entirely on the brand and luck. Both, 200$ and 130$ guns can be just as good or bad.
>>

Assuming fps Limits aren't a thing, which would you say is better for outdoor gameplay overall, /asg/? All fps readings are with a .20 bb but I plan on using .25's.

Tell me why I shouldnt buy this

http://www.evike.com/products/27701/

I'd stick with the 8.4v instead of the lipo, because "lipo ready" seems like BS
>>
>>3050062
middle
>>
>>3052265
do 9.6 not 11.1
>>
>>3052276
Yeah, running an 11.1 seems like a recipe for breakage in a gun that cheap.

The question still stands: why shouldnt I buy it?

>$140 with charger/battery+20% discount
>>
>>3052265
>>3052304
Don't bother with the 8.4, they're fucking garbage and are barely useable by modern standards. The only bullshit aprt about "lipo ready" is the fact that every gun can run a 7.4 lipo just fine and so it's just a marketing buzzword.
>>
>>3052358
>8.4 is garbage

From a rate of fire standpoint? Or from a breaking standpoint?

I'm leaning towards a low rate of fire for longevity's sake.
>>
>>3052373
Horrible trigger response that tends to lock up the gearbox, low rate of fire if you actually bother using full auto, dies much faster than lipos, they cost significantly more than lipos, and it'll struggle to provide power if you ever upgrade the gun. There's literally no reason not to get a lipo in 2017, they're better than NIMH in basically every single way.
>>
>>3052375
Many thanks.

Again, I ask the newfag question, why shouldnt I buy it?
>>
>>3052409
No reason really, JG guns are great to start with and if you want an M16 there isn't much else in that price range without going up to $200 or more for something better.
>>
>>3052409
The body is all plastic. Not even good plastic at that. How much are you willing to spend?
>>
>>3050062
>>700rpm at 485-490 fps

>>880rpm at 430-440 fps

>>3052409

I like this mode. And use .28 bbs, they're more stable and less vulnerable to the wind.

When this goes on sale its like 200ish dollars. The tan version is 230 if color doesn't bother you. While mid 100 dollar guns are fine they're rather lackluster for the most part and you'll thank me in the long run if you get a gun with good externals.
>>
>>3053303
Here's some other ideas for around 200. Always buy on sale unless its a new release and you have to have it now. You can either buy budget guns full price or you can snag a higher end gun for only a bit more.

>>
>>3049459
The nozzle doesn't have to be labeled MG42 to fit. Hop up chamber doesn't experience wear and the stock one is perfectly adequate for its purpose. The tappet plate is standard and only the shitty ones like VFC fail.

So I went for it and got the Danners Tachyons. Probably one of the most comfortable boots I've had right out of the box. My feet are only slightly warm in them after 2 hours and with thicker cotton socks on. They're light and thin but they don't feel like they're going to tear easily. I'm gonna have to wait until Sunday to field test them.

I have a ZSH 1-2M, but that's a LSHZ-2DTM Vulcan. I also wouldn't pair a ZSH with a D2 if I can help it because the helmet is used with the MVD and you won't often find them wear Defenders.

If you want a budget rusfor kit, I'd eschew armor entirely. Get a Berezka or SS-Leto sniper suit and boonie, a Tarzan chest rig or a smersh if you've got the cash, and go squat in the woods. That shouldn't cost you more than $80 total, shipping included. That getup I'm in is worth well over a grand, mostly because of the armor.

Ah yeah I didn't notice the extra screws there in the visor and the mount. And yeah if I was running a ZSH I'd need a Korund or Kulon. If I was getting a D2 it'd be going with an Altyn rep since that basic bitch Beslan era stuff is pretty aesthetic.
Man props though dude. There's also no way I could justify shelling out $500-$600 for a real D2 from Demych right now, and even more so for a real helmet like an LSHZ or Altyn.

Chechen kits are something that really get me hard too, and I've already talked with a good RR friend of mine who ran a similar kit to the guy on the right in this >>3042249 for Grozny, but I know they can be a pretty expensive pit in themselves.

>>
>>3063928

depends on how the gun performs when you get it and what you wanna do with it. the used one i got shot 450-ish fps with a 9.6 battery which is great, so for me its mostly about looks for this one atm.
>>
>>3063946

Dammit.

Is that a result of aftermarket components? Or is it gonna shoot that hard out of box?

I read they came in around 380-400
>>
>>3063959
I'm not 100% sure about all the parts but i know alot of its aftermarket from the guy i bought it off. My brother actually thought i should switch out the spring to make it shoot a bit slower since i'd never be allowed to shoot indoors with that kind of power unless its a closed game with people i know and everyone's okay with that.

Are we talking electric or gas?
>>
>>3064094
Electric, but gas info would be interesting too if you feel like laying it on me.
>>
>>3064103
Well I'm a gas gun type of person, but I do know that for AEGs you'll need a cleaning rod so you can swab the barrel. Some grease for the gears and piston would probably be a good idea too if you're comfortable with opening up your gearbox. If your gun has any steel parts, it may be a good idea to invest in some gun oil such as CLP or Rem Oil to keep rust from forming; just remember to keep it away from anything rubber such as you hopup and o-rings since gun oils are petroleum based and will dry out rubber.
As for gas guns, all you really need is a can of silicone oil and gun oil since it's essentially just like cleaning an actual gun.

You're supposed to zero it in on a short distance so that the bullet trajectory goes above the dot when firing at 50+ meters.

But that doesnt really work on airsoft due to range limits, and within that distance a red dot shouldnt obstruct your vision of the target unless the brightnes is set to maximum.

Nice, a wild M56 appears! I do enjoy wearing mine from time to time, but I kinda like it just with the foliage net and no camo cover...

It looks breddi gud and I would argue that the net is a better option when you're playing during the summer since a helmet full of grass in the net is the best camo for your helmet.
But if the environment is like in pic related then I'd pick the cover anyday.

Well, it's always nice to see fellow NVA users!
You should try putting together a dress uniform too, if you haven't already, they're pretty slick.

I recently won a src g36c gen 3. Is it worth keeping as a spare rifle or should I keep my ics sig 552?
My main is a ics ape. So I think getting a stanag adapter could be Better.

A rolled ankle and two instances of skin penetration with .20g @ ~350fps from the same gun at two different games: one in a guys scalp, the other in a guys upper lip.
