I found this G1 to be just okay, which will probably seen as an outrageous opinion now since the last three matches were truly great... but even then this wasn't the best Naito/Tanahashi and this wasn't the best Omega/Okada. Not by a long shot. There's only so many times you can put two people together and have countless finisher kickouts before people get bored. This G1 failed at creating another top star for next year's G1. As it stands, it's Naito, Okada and Omega and then a huge power gap. Tanahashi is great but everyone sees that he is not a threat for the IWGP right now he's just a fantastic performer that's still booked strong that will put talent over like it's his primary job description.
Also, at the end when Naito closed and he mentioned the LIJ members he should've said "...Hiromu... Darryl... and Naito"

They buried him with his loss against Elgin. Worse thing is that even if he had beat Elgin he wasn't going to win the block but he would've had more points so the separation between him and Omega/Okada wouldn't have been so great. He's just getting a title shot that everyone knows he's going to lose. He's just being fed tot he champion to make him look strong.

Plus you cant go by G-1 records to say a guy is buried unless hes a non old timer that gets one win. The way that tourney is setup is to have guys lose from time to time.

All I'm saying is that they made sure we, as fans, know that EVIL is not a real threat to the belt and he's only a another title match that Okada wins in his reign. watching the match now, whats with the young bucks constantly trying to steal spotlight from kenny? If he's at ringside, they'll always run over to him to get in the view of the camera, if kenny is outside the ring, they will always be there to look into the camera and sometimes even speak into it. it's pretty distracting and just detracts from the match.
