Would love to hear your opinion on this, /asp/.
>participate in martial arts tournament
>lose with just one point to opponent A
>opponent A loses next match and has to forfeit due to injury
>only one contestant for third place final
>as next in line, I take his spot and win third place
I don't know. I thought I'd be happy, but I feel like I didn't deserve to have been there. I may have earned third place, but I didn't earn my place there itself, you know?
What do you guys think? Is a victory a victory, or is it best to forget this 'achievement'?

you sound like someone how gets their ass kicked a lot
>>2937937
Neither.
You lost a match, and won a match.
Remember both experiences the best you can. Absorb what is useful, and discard what is not.
Whether you "earned" the right to fight for third place is irrelevant.
Winning third place is irrelevant.

Definitely, but I never give up.

Only first place matters. I agree.
Two years ago I couldn't leave the group stages in tournaments. This year I've only finished top 8. I'll get there.
