What is the wrestling equivilant of Queen at Live-aid.
What do you consider to be the greatest event of all time, that you wish you could've been apart of?
For me it's the Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker and Mankind at KOTR '98.
Ricochet vs Ospreay

This was was a pretty easy question to answer, OP.

WWF was incredible and a huge draw, WWE is terrible. 1998 was right in WWFs hottest period.

>unironically thinking Oasis are anything other than Blur's janetty

>Queen at Live-aid.
ok
>greatest event of all time,
These are two different things. Queen at Live-aid is the greatest -moment- in live concert history, not the greatest event. They were only one part of the show, which had had nearly-as-amazing sets from other artists. If you want to say Live Aid 1985 is the greatest rock and roll show of all time, that is a fair (and popular) opinion.
The greatest -moment- in wrestling history that was also unexpected in the way of Queen's performance that day is probably Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. Those two, like Queen, were accepted to be legends by the time, but were also at a lull in their careers. The match was expected to be good, but not something that would define their careers. They absolutely stole the show that night and it launched both of them, especially the Undertaker, into far greater relevance than they ever had before.

>could not even fill the building
>needed to make up a fake crowd number
sounds like Trumps inauguration

Cena vs RVD
>>2906955
Queen's performance came unexpected, so it has to be something like that. It can't be a main event.
Wrestlemania 17, 18 and 30
i was there at live aid
Austin V Rock at Mania 17 is the equivalent since i was there aswell

Rock hogan wrestlmania x8

>Honest, thoughtful posting
>On /asp/
I think you meant to say Queen never drew a dime and Freddie Mercury is a cuck.
Collision in Korea. WCW/NJPW crossover show in North Korea most dimes of all time
>>2908542
Yeah, and the W don't want to admit this. So they don't have it on the Network.
>>2908452
>not even the main event
>>2906955
For me ECW One Night Stand.
That's the only show that comes close the fans were rabid and eat it up.
The booking also gave the fans what they wanted to see the roof nearly came off the place when RVD won.
Now that's great booking a far cry from today's product.
>>2909463
can you imagine the smell in that ECW arena
makes me sick thinking about it
>>2909465
Can't be worse than your room, mate
Wrestlemania 31
Wrestle Kingdom 11.
>>2909518
>Wrestle Kingdom 11.
I think live aid managed to sell more than half the building
>>2908542
Are you an idiot. People are forced to go to those events. It's fucking North Korea.
>>2909521
Drawing isn't always drawing. Many classic films of today were failures when they were first released. WK11 is the greatest event in wrestling history. Give it time and people will realize it.
>>2909497
Eww, why?
>>2909530
There was also an event in South Korea that same weekend that drew similar numbers. Were those people forced to attend as well?
>>2909465
That sounds like something Vince would say except he'd add a YUUUUUUUUCK!
>>2909463
This. I'd give my left nut just to be there during Sandman's entrance.
>>2909436
It's not on the Network because it was primarily an NJPW production you C-drone.
>>2908542
By all accounts Collision in Korea was awful, Bull Nakano delivered the only decent match of the weekend otherwise the other matches were underwhelming. The crowd, no matter how big, were uninterested in professional wrestling and had no idea what they were watching - plus North Koreans are forced to go to major events at that massive stadium because there was a propaganda parade before the matches anyway.
The only reason it happened at all was because Antonio "I'll convert to Islam just to free some Jap hostages in Iraq so I can restore my political career" Inoki wanted to... restore his political career again but pulling off some boost in Japanese-North Korean relations, which never materialised anyway.
>>2909547
>There was also an event in South Korea that same weekend that drew similar numbers.
This took place in your head right?
>>2909438
Which makes it even more unexpected.
I submit this match.
