I love the "it's because of the hard cam" excuse... like every other fucking sport in the world is somehow different to fake wrestling, and wrestling just has to have entire sections worth of seats going unsold because there's a camera in the general vicinity.

I was at a live event in Pensacola, Florida this past Saturday that sold out and I mean was really a packed house especially since they didn't need a hard cam and the stage is much smaller. Then, I was in Nashville for raw on Monday and the Bridgestone arena was opening new sections going up bc the seats they had prepared had sold out and the turnout there was great. I was going to go to smackdown live in Birmingham because I live an hour north in small fuck town Alabama, but I decided last minute to just save my money instead. That being said, I'm not surprised about low attendance for sdl in Alabama, and I'm kinda glad I didn't go bc it wasn't a terribly great show

They rent the same building their mother company was using to run events with their shitty anime card games. AnimeExpo was that same week in LA.
And they were conservative, but it was about optics. They choose safe route of using small setup to be sure they sell it out. And advertisement was only on AXS, other things were only interviews with wrestling media and those count for shit.
I would have done the same, be sure to make money of it, not loose money for using bigger building and not be sure to sell out.
They had 10.000 subs from out of Japan to their service during WK. Now they have 60.000, they got six times more subs during the half year.
And Japanese OTT services are not doing well at all in Japan, that's more of western thing.

I think they are successful doing what they do, they don't risk to much with their expansion. Smaller steps are better.
