Because the NXT titles actually mean something. They're not worthless props to be passed around and handed out to just anyone on the roster. Only the best get a reign. They don't do monthly PPVs either

Less options for champions? Worse wrestlers? You don't have enough people to really hold it. You have now, with Ember, Nikki, Ruby and Asuka. But you still need to build them up and you need championship matches in TakeOver cards. Negative PR with not having women's championship match on the card is not worth the hustle. And Asuka is a draw for NXT, so having her on house show will be one of the factors fans will come.

In contrast tag championship has been great before tag teams exodus this WM, you had several teams able to hold it. Now the title is making team (not the way around).

And with the men's belt you have enough people to choose from you can use the belt to get someone over or to use it as a prop for story (Sami v Kevin).

You FINALLY have enough depth now, you can switch the title, you jsut need to find good new champ after Asuka. And Ember is not it. Let Nikki or Ruby. Or Kairi or Toni or Shayna or Mercedez hold it, after being hot from MYC, You have ready stories with MYC, Asuka will not think they are good enough, cause they are indie shitters and she is big league. She will slip and loose.
