I enjoyed the old school style and pacing. The storytelling. The star power. The nostalgia. The surprises. The swerves. The crowd reaction. I loved watching guys I have immense respect for and who look a feel like larger than life superstars taking me on emotional roller coaster and legitimately making me mark out (which is very hard for me to do because I'm so jaded as a fan).

Matches with aforementioned elements being few and far between today is one of many reasons the masses have stopped watching.

I was there live and it was a great match. But I saw it recently on the network and it just doesn't hold up. Why? Because I've already seen it a thousand times in that this is the match that the E always aspires to have and emulates for their big main eventers. It just felt like another match.

I liked Angle-Michaels better.
