Because the fact of the matter is AJ isn't on the level of any of those guys you mentioned. He's a smark darling but most of his matches are forgettable* (surprise surprise). I like him, and he's a solid B+ player, but AJ cannot "save" wrestling.

This is another case of WWE being shit right now and wrestlers that are slight beacons of hope being way overrated. Same thing happened with Cringe M Punk although thankfully AJ's levels of hype haven't come close to Cringe's overhype.

* For example, I vividly remember KO's first two PPV matches against Cena. Those were two years ago now? I barely remember ANY of AJ's matches except maybe his latest one at WM against Shane, and that's only because Shane had some good spots and moments in it.

Cena doesn't understand storytelling. 99% of his matches go exactly the same way:

>Opponent lands one punch, Cena hits the ground
>Cena dead the entire match while opponent hits move after move after move (prompting fans to think it is a good match because of all the different offensive moves the opponent is doing)
>Cena comes to life for 5 moves of doom
