What was the real motive for what they did to Buff Bagwell?
I watched the match with Booker T again and I honestly think the problem was the angle. We're meant to care about loyalties within a WCW faction which previously hasn't existed in the WWF (as it was then) universe. I also suspect a joke in saying "the best that WCW has to offer" repeatedly over an ill-prepared and unfocused match. Bagwell himself thought there was something fishy in their being asked to do it in Tacoma, Washington, only a week before going to Atlanta, where people were far more likely to give a fuck about a WCW storyline.
Also, telling him he couldn't look into the camera was bullshit. His to-camera asides were hilarious, half of his persona. It honestly seems like they sabotaged him then shit-canned him for one disappointing match where the only conspicuous botch per se wasn't even his.

they found out he was gay and then sabotaged him
classic pre 2010s wrestling
>>2714959
his mom called to talk to someone in talent relations and vince cut him the day after
this is according to chael sonnen though so take it with a grain of salt
he's legit a male prostitute now.
>>2714981
couldnt he atleast be a porn star? surely the fame he had would get people to book him, and hes buff and used to the camera
plus i bet the people you bang as a prostitute are way uglier than as a pornstar, pornstars do it for the money, but as a prostitute you bang people who are too ugly to have sex and get a clue
>>2714981
It's crazy. A waste of a talented wrestler.

He has apparently been married three times, and the company he's with as a gigolo advertises as being for women only, though that may be bullshit.
I marked out for Buff, dude was pretty based back then.

>It honestly seems like they sabotaged him
DDP said they told him to stop doing this
>>2715003
Don't get me wrong, I was a mark for Buff when I was a kid, but he fucking sucked in the ring.
>>2714959
He was a drug addict at the time and was a jerk to people. That's it.
Shame because he would've made a fine champion.
>>2714963
Just about every wrestler was gay or had gay leanings pre 2010s- oh right, he's not in the fag clique.
>>2714959
Scapegoat.
Kevin Dunn never wanted WCW to get off the ground and was in his Vince's ear throughout.

What's your basis for this claim?
>>2716244
Still waiting to hear what basis this has.
>>2714963
>fired for being gay
>by a company run by the gays
Riiiiiight
>>2718677
Evidence, please.
>>2718677
Still waiting for evidence that WWE is "a company run by the gays".
Pat Patterson ya pinhead

>New Jack is seething about being outed on /asp/
Quality timeline.
>>2722735
Yeah, that's one guy, working for Vince. Not exactly gays running the show, is it? How does a guy who hasn't been in the locker-room since the Spanish-American War alter how Buff Bagwell was received?
If you don't think it was homophobia that got rid of Bagwell, fine, give us your take on events. But making out that the 'E is a gay organization is a major overstatment, to put it generously.

kek
If New Jack runs WWE, his career is the ultimate worked shoot.
>>2714959
Huricane beat him up at the training centre. They said what the fuck that faggot can't even beat up that vanilla midget. Thats when they decided to get rid of him and to push the midget
