He was a scared little mark who had to plan out every single second of his match in case he got exposed. Real GOATs can just go out and improvise a 5 star classic on the spot, working the crowd into a frenzy.

Macho was the hardest worker in the business, a perfectionist that had mastered the art of wrestling and promos, a pioneer of flamboyant pageantry and character work who could work face just as well as heel. He should have had a long, sustained run at the top, but Hogan had to leech off him for his 2nd wind and Vince was rankled about his outside success. He never truly got his due.

His match with Hollywood Hogan on Nitro in 1999 was shockingly good given both guys limitations. Granted it was more of a brawl, but still really entertaining and intense.

He IS the greatest and people have the nerve to put people like John Cena and other busters above him on lists. It's fucking ridiculous. People barely talk about Cena when he's active and people are still talking about Macho Man long after he died, and will for a long time. He's the epitome of what a wrestler should be.
