ITT, Facts you probably didn't know about wrestling

John Cena is a fan of guns
Scott steiner wrestled in 1995 for ECW
The JR appearance at WM 33 wasn't a one-off
>>

However, the amount of dates is brock lesnar small.

dwayne johnson is in fact twins - one brother who can talk on the mic, the other who can perform in-ring.

Remember when The Rock wrestled in that black tracksuit for a short period? That was to hide the scars he had from surgery on his man-boobs.

Brian Kendrick once appeared on The Price Is Right as a contestant.

Bret Hart almost didn't appear in The Simpsons....at least not his likeness. He was always intended to do a voice-over....but at first the Simpsons animators were just going to animate a random Russian wrestler, because they didn't realize he was a big star until after he finished doing his lines and he signed autographs outside. They then decided to put Bret's likeness in the show...unfortunately they didn't re-record his lines, which is why Bret sounds like a standard angry wrestler instead of his normal self in the episode.

According to Dave Meltzer...after their breakup, Chyna once had a pool installed on her property in the shape of Triple H's ass.

Cena, Austin, and Punk have all admitted to literally shitting themselves in the ring during a match.

Normally when it comes to wrestlers' names and trademarks, the WWE either gives them a name trademarked by the company or allows them to use their own original name. Gangrel was one of the rare cases where WWE gave a wrestler a name that was trademarked by a third party. As a result, for all WWE video games that Gangrel appeared in, a separate credit is shown to White Wolf Inc. - the company behind the 'Vampire' role-playing game, where his name was taken from.

According to ECW wrestler New Jack, D'Von Dudley was cheating on his wife with a valet/ring rat named Chastity, and almost left his wife for her...until one day when the boys in the back were in a room watching a porno, which featured Chastity and another woman receiving a load from some guy. D'Von walked in the room, saw the video playing, and New Jack turned to a shocked D'Von and excitedly said to him "Hey...look! Your bitch on TV! That's your bitch!". D'Von and Chastity broke up soon afterwards.

90% of wrestlers have shit themselves in ring at some point, possibly more.

Big Show used to eat toothpaste sandwiches while on the road in his early days as a wrestler. It's exactly what it sounds like...toothpaste on bread.

On an episode of America's Most Wanted, footage of a robbery was shown, and the suspect could be clearly seen. This led to several tips to AMW where many people informed them that the suspect appeared to be...pro wrestler Big Boss Man. The show received so many tips about Boss Man being the robber that he was actually contacted, and once he was cleared he then appeared in a later AMW episode to confirm to viewers that he was not the robber.

Before Nicki Minaj became one of the most famous female rappers today, she got her first taste of widespread exposure through WWE as the featured rapper on an entrance theme for wrestler Victoria.

In 1992, Shane-O-Mac was in a bar and tried to get touchy-feely with a woman. The woman was not too happy about that, and she left the area...and later returned with her husband, who Shane recognized was a wrestler by the name of Bret Hart. Bret learned that Shane was getting too close to his wife...and he gripped Shane up to a wall and warned him to not put his hands on his wife again. Shane heeded the warning, and there was no further incident.

Regarding that Bret Hart factoid, it gets me how the last overwhelmingly approved Simpsons season (season 8 - some people will say up to 9 and 10, but 8 is definitely liked) broadcast JUST before the Attitude Era started. The Simpsons' best seasons were pretty much all done by the time the Montreal Screwjob happened.

One I'll never forget, because I went to Nitro (from "The Stupidity of WCW"):

>WCW's tour of Australia at the back end of 2000 was largely a success. It should have been very profitable. However, WCW signed a deal with Australian promoters to buy back any seats that didn't sell. The whole tour, including house shows and Thunder sold out and yet WCW still ended up paying $400,000 because the deal they signed included WCW paying for any seats that could not be used due to TV production equipment.

Time Warner rejected an offer of $500,000,000 to buy WCW a year before they sold for less than $3,000,000 to Vince McMahon.

Bullshit. They wouldn't just get some guy who was a wrestler to do a cameo.
>>
>>2666863

Bret himself confirmed it in an interview with The A.V. Club

>They approached me about doing a voice as a wrestler, but not Bret Hart. It was the Mad Russian or something. I said, "I don't want to be the Mad Russian, I want to be Bret 'The Hitman' Hart!" We went back and forth for a while and they eventually said, very politely, "This is the way it's written, take it or leave it." I agreed, and flew down to FOX Studios. They had blocked off this huge chunk of time for my three lines, and were saying things like, "We need you more mad," "Okay, not quite that mad!" I did my lines about 100 times in two minutes! I went outside to wait for my limo that had gone to get gas, and I signed autographs and took pictures for 45 minutes. The guy that was in charge of my episode came up to me and said, "I had no idea you were this big of a star! If we haven't already started the artwork, we're going to draw you in as yourself." That's why the voice doesn't really sound like me, because I thought I was playing a crazy Russian!

>What was the point of getting Bret the shitman Shart in if they wasn't going to use his actual character?

To be fair...this is the same show that got Michael Jackson - one of the most famous people on the planet - to do a voice-over for a tall, fat, insane white guy instead of for his own likeness
>>
>>2665888
I remember Austin saying when he shat himself during a match with Yokozuna, he told Yoko to wrap it up. They ended the match quickly, and he got the fuck outta there and went straight to the showers
>>
>>2667014
Pretty sure that was the point. Plus it wasn't just 3 lines he was in the whole episode. And they regularly got famous people to do original characters, particularly in the earlier seasons. Dustin Hoffman was on it too and he wasn't credited as himself, like they did with MJ. They made a joke about it in the episode with the Itchy and Scratchy Movie.
>>
>>2667014
That was the joke though, Jackson voiced a guy that thought he was Jackson.
>>
>>2667014
What the fuck?, that's an amazing episode. Jackson couldn't be more proud of persona being used like that.

Edge once got trolled hard by Vince McMahon. While in the middle of a feud with Kurt Angle that was leading to a hair vs. hair match, Edge was told by Vince that he would be losing the match and would have to be shaved bald. This was an unpleasant surprise to Edge, who understandably assumed that Angle would be losing since Edge was the face and Angle was the heel. Edge talked to Angle about it, saying how he couldn't lose his hair since it took years to grow out, and he even admitted that he looked ugly without long hair which was why he grew it out in the first place. At one point, Edge even cried about it. Then the big night came, and just before the match Edge was informed that Angle was indeed the one who would be shaved that night

The reality behind Vince announcing that wrestling was fake was twofold, partially because if it's entertainment then his wrestlers don't have to be steroid tested, but also because if wrestling is labelled as entertainment and not a sport then they didn't have to pay the sports commission for running the business.

Since returning for his latest run, Brock Lesnar (including WWE live events) has used only 194 moves. 137 were suplex variations. 109 were German suplexes.

Conversely, Goldberg, in his latest run, has only used 4 moves since returning.

The Spear, Jackhammer, Shoulder block, and knee to the gut.

He has wrestled for 9 minutes and 45 seconds over 4 matches (including his Rumble appearence), nearly half of which were in his WM33 appearance against Lesnar.

In matches, he used the Jackhammer 4 times, the Spear 10 times, the shoulder block once, and the knee to the gut twice.

During his entire 2016-2017 run (including appearances), Goldberg spent close to 27 minutes walking to, and posing, in the ring.

>WCW's tour of Australia in 2000
According to reports received, the much-talked-about incident with Juventud Guerrera occurred at the Brisbane Marriott Hotel where Guerrera (Anibal Gonzalez Hernandez, 24) and the rest of the WCW crew were staying at during their time in Sydney as a part of the Australia tour. Guerrera, reports say, began shouting obscenities (first at Disco Inferno and then at others), then stripped naked, and also began throwing chairs near a dining area. Fellow wrestlers who were unable to restrain him called the local police.
Twenty police officers arrived at the scene at around 11:30 a.m.; an estimated six offers as well as capsicum spray were needed to calm Guerrera down. One of the officers was a female, who was taken to a local hospital due to an injury suffered during the incident; several bystanders were affected by the capsicum spray. Guerrera was also screaming lascivious words during the incident, but no one could understand him. He has been charged with three counts of assault, indecent exposure, obstructing police, disorderly conduct, and possession of a drug (believed to be ecstasy). This all occurred just hours before the Nitro taping was to start that same evening.
Gonzalez will remain in a holding cell is Brisbane before he will be appearing before a Magistrate on Sunday. Last year, he was nearly deported from the U.S. when he and Jerry Brenneman (Jerry Flynn) were involved in a car chase, after which it was revealed that he had a Blood Alcohol Content level of a .20 (2.5 times over the legal limit in most U.S. states).

“I only remember one thing from that Cauliflower Alley show. I was wrestling Brian Kendrick on the show, and beforehand, we were talking backstage.
Brian turned and saw a skinny young wrestler doing a stretch on his back while kicking his legs over his head and leaving them there. Brian walked up to the kid, whom we’d never met before, and casually said, “Hey, you know that’s the best way to suck your own cock, right?” The kid was terrified as he watched Brian get down on the ground next to him and demonstrate the motions.
With that, Nick Bockwinkel—a wrestling legend and the man responsible for my winning the King of the Indies tournament—entered the room, dressed to perfection. Brian didn’t see him come in, so Bockwinkel saw the entire demonstration as Brian told the kid to just “let gravity do all the work.” Brian looked up just in time to see an appalled Bockwinkel shake his head in disgust and walk out of the room. I nearly fell over laughing.”

- Former WCW booker and talent Kevin Sullivan sometimes feared telling wrestlers when they were going to loose a match so he would send Meng to deliver the bad news since everyone in the locker room feared him.

- While leaving an airport bar with Siva, Meng was confronted by 5 patrons who started to taunt him with "wresting is fake" chants. One man got into Meng's face so Meng attacked the man and bit off most of the man's nose. Meng and Siva beat all 5 men down and afterwards calmly left the bar like nothing happened. Meng was later sued by the man who lost his nose for $2.5 million dollars. Meng later said it was the best $2.5 million he ever spent.

- Meng once popped the eye out of a fellow wrestler after a backstage incident and the man. The eye actually wasn't "pooped" out but the man did suffer injury enough to the eye that it had to be replaced with a glass eye.

- Brutus Beefcake filed a complaint with the WWF about Meng, then known as Haku, working stiff in the ring. After Haku was approached by the WWF about it, he went into the locker room and attacked Brutus while in the shower. Haku lifted him off his feet while choking him out. No one in the locker room intervened due to being too scared to confront Haku.
