Mostly true, but you have to remember a lot of the stuff you see today dates back to that period. The core of his message is that he sees someone doing ten flips and then a kick to the knee like somehow the ten flips beforehand added something to the move. Or the idea of having your whole card be hardcore matches. His idea of kayfabe though has long since been buried.
