First I pull a classic Russo technique: actually talk with Roman and get a feel for who he is, what his look lends him to being, etc. Second I book a MitB cash-in on Reigns that he successfully defends.

Roman then goes on and says he's such a bad dude that every time he wrestles he will put his title on the line. Whoever can pin him or make him submit gets the belt. Have everyone on the roster looking to get into a match against Reigns.

Reigns beats them all week in, week out. Treachery is afoot here, an uphill battle is there. Roman starts counting the total number of superman punches he's delivered. He starts challenging others to matches just because he's looking to be entertained. He grins more often and it keeps getting more smug with every victory. Match challenges are issued against commentators, ring announcers, referees. He crashes Smackdown, he crashes NXT Takeover. The Big Dog is hungry and he's always on the hunt for his next meal.

Eventually someone emerges to put down the Big Dog. Someone that the crowd is totally behind. It's a big 4 PPV. This champion of the people (no not The Rock) has Roman dead to rights. Roman superman punches the ref out but it doesn't look like an accident.

Both men are down when a fan favorite runs down to the ring. He stands the challenger up... and then takes him back down with his finisher. He pulls Roman onto the challenger then rips off his shirt to reveal a referee shirt underneath. He counts the pin for Roman, who struggles to stand but he's got that smug grin on his face.

This fan favorite declares to the world that Roman Reigns is legit, he's the toughest guy in the entire company, and he's here just to be part of the pack. This fan favorite walks around with a ref shirt underneath another shirt at all times. When Roman issues a challenge this guy rips off his shirt and refs the match on the spot.

Somewhere along the way the Big Dog's pack gets more members from the undercard: a tag team, a midcarder, and a big son of a bitch who runs into the ring from the crowd to interfere on behalf of his stable mates.

Roman *still* reigns supreme with the belt. But one night after a grueling match, Reigns hobbles to his feet with the help of his personal referee. His enforcer steps into the ring, looks Roman square in the eyes, and lays him out with his finisher. The midcarder runs in, the tag team runs in, they all look up at the big guy and then down on Reigns and they proceed to stomp on him and tear him apart.

Roman is sidelined. He is out on injury while his stable continues without him. The big guy has taken over. Where Roman issued challenges, this guy just attacks people. He smacks the rest of the stable and is generally abusive. Thirty days go by and he challenges Roman to a title match. Roman is not ready but he accepts. He puts up a little fight but he ultimately is destroyed and the belt finally changes hands.

The big guy has a new order of business. First he issues a challenge to the tag team stable members for their belts. He chooses the midcarder as his partner, creating a rift in the stable. A match ensues and when the tag team is winning the big guy pulls a Rick Martel on the midcarder who the tag team gladly picks apart. Next he teases a match with the title on the line and when the personal ref rips his shirt off the big guy takes him out from behind and says there will be no match. The big guy only wrestles with the belt on the line when contractually obligated to and no more than that.

The big guy runs roughshod over every challenger. He pulls dirty tricks, you know the story. He declares himself the meanest, toughest guy in the whole company when Roman's music hits. Roman reminds the big guy that he was injured when they last faced off but now he's healed and hungry again.

Unfortunately for Roman, the next Royal Rumble is coming up. The big guy declares that he will put his belt on the line and he will personally enter the Rumble. At the Rumble, Roman draws #1 while the big guy gets #30. Roman wrestles his way through the match to get to the big guy but he ultimately fails due to exhaustion and is eliminated, thus the title is retained. The process is repeated at Elimination Chamber. Roman fights his way into the match but once again he's first the big guy is last, and the beating he takes in the meantime costs him when the big guy is fresh.

Come Wrestlemania the big guy has no challengers left when Roman comes out for a match. The big guy rightfully points out that Roman has no grounds for being in the match. The title simply won't be defended at Wrestlemania until there is a number one contender.

The GM comes out and books a six man #1 Contender ladder match for Wrestlemania, the winner of which will go on to face the champion later that night. Roman can take it or leave it. He takes it.

At Wrestlemania Roman against all opposition manages to secure the Number One Contender spot. At the main event of the night Roman, beaten up and exhausted again, wrestles a smart, strategic, minimalistic match that wears down the big guy over time. And in the end, Roman reigns supreme again as champion.
