They trusted Sasha to be part of the women's feud that had all those "never done before" women's matches. They trusted Sasha be in the main event match of a pay per view. They trusted Sasha enough to be a multiple time women's champ, yet they never let her have a title reign of over a month, even after Ric Flair came out and raised her hand the last time she won the belt.
During that time, Sasha was consistently getting good reactions from the crowds. I'm not saying Charles didn't deserve to be pushed as the top woman on the roster, she's definitely better in the ring than anyone else, but I feel like they really dropped the ball with Sasha by not letting her hold the belt for at least a few months without losing it.
The hot-potato of the championship made the end of their feud feel like it well overstayed its welcome. They already fucked up the Sasha/Bayley situation by not pulling the trigger on Sasha turning on her by now. By the time they do it, it will be predictable and there won't be much interest

See the other thread. Youtube and shop searches are best puplicly available metrics and they show Sasha as a clear first, with Bliss and Bayley about tied for second.

They used Sasha to heat up Charlotte because they thought Bayley would be the bigger babyface. Sasha got sacrificed because Vince fell for the Bayley meme.
In hindsight, Bayley should have been the top diva on Smackdown. Becky Lynch should have been in the hot potato and Sasha should been the conquering babyface at Mania.
