I gotta admit, I wince, cringe, shake my head, and feel a bit nauseous watching these.
What are your thoughts and opinions? Or even reactions? Should it be considered wrestling or a bastardization of it? I have mixed feelings about it.
I know no one is holding guns to these peoples' heads to do this, but you gotta admit, some of this shit is just plain outrageous. Are they masochists? Drug addicts?
Thoughts? Reaction images?

I believe the people who take part in these matches are low IQ sickos with an extreme case of being attention whores.
The matches can be entertaining for their shock and awe but are overall the worst representations of wrestling because only talentless hacks are willing to nearly kill themselves for $15 and a cheese sandwich.
retarded/10
pity them all you want, some of the rats that show up to these shows are solid 7's and you can bet these dudes are getting their dicks sucked at the end of the night
i think some hardcore/deathmatch wrestling is respectable and even good, old FMW shit is great, IWA Japan too, and there are some attitude era and ecw stuff that's good but the newer/more extreme stuff like BJW/Freedoms/CZW is all shock value garbage with no real wrestling to tie it together, the only ones still doing it worth a fuck are Jun Kasai and Masada
Wince in pain. I don't see the good in it but they better be paying good to that shit.

Deathmatch wrestling promotions: garbage
Occasional deathmatch within normal wrestling company: kino

Probably just gas money

I got nothing against FMW; Hayabusa was what made thst company great and it had legit wrestlers and everything. And I know it had electric cage matches and exploding ring matches, but dropping someone on their head on a cinder block or diving through multiple panes of glass?
And Jim Cornette thought ECW was bad...
>>2608487
But most of them are in the ring with eachother mixing blood and getting Hepatitus from it.

I agree with this. Deathmatches have a place in which cage matches do; the end of a feud or something.
When its your sole promotional focus, it just gets retardedly brutal and pointless and just numbs audiences

>when the haldol doesnt kick in
Do any of you think this hurts wrestling or public perception of it?
>>2608489
>BJW has no real wrestling tying it together
There's deathmatch shit they do that's fucking insane but most of the time they're based as fuck and even the deathmatches rule. If they don't go too insane. Their best attribute is their big bois and their juniors are pretty decent as well.

PWG is pretty great with this actually for all their flaws. Deathmatch Dustin and helping friend hardcore icon Shitty Greg moving up in the world from comedy act to super srs business wrestler has been one of the most kino stories on the indys since generico vs steen.

JEEEEEEEEEEEESUSS
>>2608500
the payoff comes down the road when you leverage your deathmatch reputation towards higher payrates for indy dates
deathmatches are basically getting a masters for wrestlers
>>2608489
literally two shows out of the entire czw year feature deathmatches
