They took it off Miz and put it on Ambrose, who's good and could keep elevating the belt, but then they didn't give Ambrose any meaningful time, either in promos or in matches, to get the IC title over.

Probably when they took it off Road Dogg after two weeks. He was a meme champ but was doing good until Russo went full Russo. Splitting the "brands" and using the Big Gold since HHH thought he was too good for the IC was the final nail in the coffin. Miz did good but it would take a year or two to even get it back to old levels.

The fact that the IC champion was in the pre-show at W33 shows how much the writers care about the title right now. It's got nothing to do with Ambrose as they're perfectly fine with with letting him beat oreowens at the shakeup.

Someone please reply to me and explain why simply making the IC title the top title on SD, instead of putting the WWE title there and creating a new piece of Twizzler title for Raw, would have been a bad idea

I get that Raw is the A show to Vince so there is no way he'd try to elevate the IC title on there. But why not keep the WWE title on red show and elevate the IC title on manlet blue live.....instead of coming up with yet ANOTHER 'le new Star Wars Intergalactic' world title that nobody will take seriously compared to the actually-prestigious WWE title?

The phrase "Intercontinental title" even basically sounds like a fancy word for "between all the continents title" which basically means "world title".....why not make THAT another world title? And at least the title actually has a long list of legendary holders (Bret, Savage, Perfect, Rock, Austin) so they could have built off of that (sure there's also people like Santino, Godfather and Marty Jannetty.....but even the WWE title had people like JBL, Del Rio and 2010 Miz hold it)

Being IC Champion, let alone WWE Champion, used to be a HUGE thing. Now it means almost nothing. Miz is probably the only guy since, I don't know, Orton who made the title seem like a big thing.

Well, the Miz made it probably the most relevant title in WWE last year, and then they crafted the feud of the year around it and managed to get Dolph legitimately over with it, and then they buried all of that about two weeks after its peak and put it on Ambrose for the Mania preshow.
