It's different for Asuka though because she's a female in her mid-30s, which WWE considers old for women. Asuka is legit the best female worker they've ever had since at least the early 90s when they were using some joshis, but I doubt that matters much to Vince, especially when a younger joshi will be coming down to Florida soon anyway.

I remember reading the dirtsheets when they first signed Kana back in 2015 saying that it was their intention she would be just an NXT thing. Now obviously, plans do change, and I think Samoa Joe was also originally signed for just NXT. But I also think Asuka is better off not going to the main roster where the booking is weaker.
