>roman reigns
>intended to be the top guy of the company for the future
>book him in a way that makes marks and smarks alike dislike the mere sight him for 2+ years straight
>have him retire a fan favorite in a stinker of a match, a move that just makes smarks piss their diapers and marks to shit the bed and screech before tucking in for bed
huh...
It's hilarious. Roman is something we haven't seen before.
All part of the plan to work the people that give them money despite knowing it's all scripted.
Going well so far as I am seething.
I think the psychology behind it is that if you give the fans what they want they would lose interest and would have nothing to look forward to, they want to keep friends desperate and emotional, reigns going over their favourites keep them tuned in.

That's how good heels work
The difference is Roman has been booked as an underdog baby face with the odds stacked against him forever
In terms of polarizing the fanbase, Roman is Cena turned up to 12. Kids and pajeets worship him, smarks want him dead. The thing is, he was made what he is purely through booking. Sure, he's gotten a few fans and turned a few smarks against him naturally, but the kids love him and the smarks hate him for the same reason: he's booked as the stronk superhero that sticks his mug in everything and superman punches everyone to death no matter what.
I really, really think that Vince likes the idea of dividing the fanbase so starkly. I think he really enjoys not only the money from the kids, but the heat from the smarks. I wouldn't be surprised if the company kept doing it even after Roman's run on top, with the next chosen face of the company.
