I like how documentaries on WEW Network try to make Vince out like he's this prophet of knowing who's gonna be good and who isn't by only focusing on his successes. They'll talk for hours about how he knew Rock and Austin were gonna be the shit while totally ignoring his failed top guys like Diesel, Rock's goofy first gimmick, Lex Luger, Test, etc. Even HBK was a flop as the top guy.

Vince being some wrestling genius is a work

He had to be convinced by Jake Roberts to start buying into Austin. Bruce Pritchard had to convince him to bring in Undertaker who he wanted nothing to do with cuse he looked like some "ginger basketball player"

Vince has always surrounded himself with intelligent wrestling minds and that has lead to most of his success
