It should be a shounen, MC a simple dude with the dream to make it to WWE
The first season is him fighting in underground environments, ending with him becoming the champion of that places, which opens his way to NXT at the end of the season.
The WWE characters should be shown only with a shadow outline when talked about, and even guys like Dolph should be considered monsters compared to the indie fighters.

It should be a collect-a-thon like Pokemon. You much catch Wild Superstars in random battles to add them to your team. Some Superstars have multiple evolutions (gimmicks) allowing you to tailor them to your play style. Superstars would be super-deformed and/or anthropomorphic versions of themselves. Like Roman Reigns would be a big dog of some sort, and Charlotte would look like Psyduck.
