If 2000 is the single greatest year in WWE history, is 2002 and 2003 the 2nd and 3rd single best years or vice versa?
>>
1999`was better than 2000

unless your obese and only care about "work rate"
>>
>>2284691
literally watch midcard from 97-99, it fucking sucked you autistic nigger faggot asshole
>>
2002 was literally the death of wrestling

when Austin quit being a full timer
when Undertaker had to carry the belt briefly
when Rock left
when Shawn came back
>>
>>2284807
>he didn't mark seeing Shawn cosplay in nWo
>he didn't mark watching shitty babyface Rock get BTFO by BASED Bork
>he didn't mark for literally everything GOAT Kurt was doing
>he didn't mark for the 1st ever brand-split
18+
>>
2002 was fucking awful all around

KYS
>>
>>2284691
WTF are you on? 2000 had the best shenanigans of the Attitude Era with the workers of the Post-War Era to complement it.
>>
>>2285040
>marked for hb-cringe looking like a skinny lesbian wearing the nwo shirt
>thinks babyface rock isn't the GOAT
>thinks this wasn't objectively kurt's worst year in wwe
>thinks cutting a shitty roster in two was a good thing
having a brain +
>>
97 was best. It had Steve Austin at his best and fucking people up, gangwars, Hart Foundation, original DX, ECW invasion. Kane debut
>>
>top ten best years of wwe going only by ratings

1. 1999
2. 2000
3. 2001
4. 1998
5. 2002
6. 2006
7. 2005
8. 2003

What was going on in 2009? I wasn't watching at the time

Cena vs Orton.
>>
>>2285090
>Randy Orton vs Triple H in a great rivalry that didn't really deliver at WM 25
>Randy Orton vs Batista
>Randy Orton vs John Cena
>DX vs Legacy
>Guest Hosts as GMs of Raw

>>
>>2285120
jesus christ
>>
>>2285387
still much better than 2010 and 2011, retard
>>
>>2285408
2010 had nexus which was good for about a month
2011 had punk being great for 2 months
>>
Do you know what the biggest difference is between the WWE of 98-01 and today? The quality of performers. Back then, almost every act throughout the card was legitimately entertaining.

>Stone Cold
>The Rock
>Angle
>Jericho
>Undertaker
>Kane
>The New Age Outlaws
>HHH
>Vince
>APA
>Edge and Christian
>The Hardys
>Val Venis
>A ton of very hot women in thongs

Look at this list. Everyone on it is objectively better than their current day counterparts.
Something they all had in common, whenever they came out, you actually were interested to see what they were going to say or do next. This is something that is not true of any full time "superstar" today.
>>
I know one thing: 2003 was without a doubt the GOAT year for Smackdown

Angle, Benoit, Prime Lesnar, Big Show in the most dominant & legit phase of his WWE career, Eddie, Edge, Cena before he was a superhero, pre-shitty knees Mysterio, Taker.....that show had it all.....

Was so great that even Hogan and Vince had SD!-exclusive storylines. Even Michael Cole and Tazz were better than JR and Lawler around that period. God, we were spoiled back then.....
>>
>>2285458
no, no you don't get it. This generation has WORKRATE. The most (((stacked))) roster since the new jobberation era.
>>
>>2284686
2001 is the best year in WWE history. From a show standpoint and eating the competition.
>>
>>2285458
Every time I watch a youtube video of Too Cool's entrance and the inevitable loud pop that they get, I then look at the entrance pops nowadays in comparison and die a little inside

Too Cool. Too fuckin' Cool. Even the name is pure ass. And it's a team consisting of two lame corny white dudes dressed up in hip hop gear and a dancing, thong-wearing fatty that rubbed his ass in people's faces. And they got bigger pops than most of today's roster.
>>
For me the gold period is since the middle of the 98's and up until middle of the 2005.

So much good stuff happening all around, specially between 1999~2003, it was absolutely amazing, specially compared to what we have today.

>>2285535
Shit man, I didn't realize that until now, but it is rather mindblowing.
>>
>>2284686
How has no one pointed out that these are all photos from 2002
>>
>>2285055
Kurt had a good run in 2002 though.
His matches with Angle, Benoit, Edge, his time in the midcard improved him.
>>
>>2284799
What? That part of the Attitude Era was praised for the entire roster having something to do on the show.

he isn't, far from it

he flopped in 2009 and never recovered

>>
>>2285688
>Again, you can argue Orton drew a particular good WrestleMania buy and that should be included (he didn’t, by the way

kek boreton BTFO
>>
>>2285657
Orton is good when he gives a fuck, but sadly he took a lot of damage after 2006 with all those fucking repetitive John Cena matches.

Does he draw?, probably, but if WWE booked him better he could be drawing a lot more.
>>
>>2285348
Yeah, he said that. Gang wars. If the concept only didn't entertain you, than you need to do all those things Kevin Nash said to do.
>>
>>2285535
But did you watch them back then? They were hilarious because they were so outrageous and awful. That was their gimmick.
>>
>>2285587
Pretty sure that was OP's point: 2002 was based as fuck.
>>
>>2285535
Literally almost everyone got HUGE fucking pops consistently. The crowds were incredible back then. They will never be that great again. Crowds are big part of what makes a show great. And it's no coincidence that as shows became worse over the years the crowds became worse as well.
