Smarks were never really an issue until WWE became more apparent on the Internet, moreso after le pipebomb spread like cancer online, once anime fags/neckbeards etc on the Internet noticed WWE buzz online they started watching to spruce their lives up abit (possibly another outlet for fap material too)
Then you have the original smarks that jerked it to Dean Malenko and Benoit, the old smarks in conjunction with the new smarks used the Internet to gain more influence with WWE signings and booking, through social media bitching and building unity together to express their unpopular opinions on live shows (shit smarks say online that influences newfags regardless if it's right or wrong, converting oblivious newfags like cancer).
Hence the shit ratings with indie jobbers everywhere and sjw shit like the womans revolution and treating appearances equally even if you're a flabby goblin like dbry. The live shows speak for themselves with chants that any normal fan wouldn't understand but it becomes a noise that floods the arena with the increase of smarks attending events.
(cheers for unknown indie debuts and boos for Batista / Roman and their forced push, something a casual doesn't understand)
I've been a fan since the late 90's, this is the worst I've personally seen the company.

I've been a fan since the early 80's and it's (wwe) the worst I've ever seen it. I don't think smarks are as big of an issue as you're making them out to be.. I mean catering to them isn't good, but thats just one component of a creative that is complete shit in every aspect.
>>2128167
I don't disagree, but we're comparing shit and diarrhea at this point

It seems your problem is more with the sport of pro wrestling and the lack of roided up man drama
The problem isn't that they're bringing in the indie guys. It's that they haven't built proper main eventers so guys like Owens (who would be fine as part of the tag team division) end up getting sucked into the vacuum.
Smark crowds have existed for literally decades.
18+ young boy

The actually do
You'd be surprised to see casuals go to house shows and exonerate neckbeards who boo the guy because they don't identify with him

once they started listening to twitter shit, it was over.
not knowing anyone who actually uses twitter is a fucking loser

kekkity shmekkity shmik shmak shmoo
>tfw no time machine to see what the IWC was like between 97-04
Sad but desu it was probably a bunch of cave smarks speculating over Promeltzeus's sheets over 10 threads

actually there is. its called usenet and messageboards 18+
the smarks hated rocky and austin. really makes you think. if the internet was so big back then and crowds were so virgin smarky, austin and rock would get booed out every night.
the smarks also loved cena when he was a midcard heel jobber and then turned on him once he got pushed. makes you think
>>2129023
this
Some people were tired of Austin but people really despised the rock. Jericho was the smarks number one guy back then. When he won the belt then was booked like shit and dropped it to Triple H, they were so mad they actually didn't have a problem with hogan winning the belt just because it was off HHH
and they fucking loved eddie and benoit. especially benoit. then those guys got pushed and didnt draw a fucking dime. makes you think

You've been on /pol/ too long my friend

Nobody else watches now
Out of the current roster the only full time wrestler an average person will know is Randy Orton and that's only because of the RKO out of nowhere memes. They haven't made a star since Cena, Batista actually got bigger since leaving
>>2129044
not him, but you're right. It was all those abandoned attitude era fans demanding diva shit
