i was like 7 or 8 and wasn't allowed up to watch raw at 10:30-12:30 and usually went over time on school nights but i was allowed to watch smackdown because it was over by 10:30 every week. i remember one of my first smackdowns Hogan came back with the voodoo child entrance and everything. Had no idea who he was or why all these people were cheering such an old man.

2-3 years later he comes back to fight Shawn Michaels in the main event of Summer Slam and I had no idea about his previous work. I was so confused why anyone gave a shit about some random midcarder who was the janetty of the hogan/edge tag team and why he got to fight Michaels.

I was so pissed as a kid. What a stupid fucking thing for Hogan to do kayfabe wise. Everyone knew it was hogan but he still took off his mask to "reveal" it to the crowd, then he tells them to shhhh as if Vince wasn't there in the building watching.
