It's 1996 and Vince has chosen Roman Maivia as the next WWF superstar during the Monday Night Wars.
He's pushed exactly the same way as now, 2 and a half years non stop as a babyface, despite mass rejection.
He's ''the GUY'' cutting promos suffering succotash, giants in the sky and wears pink tshirts.
Does WWF shut down at the end of 1998?

No cause Austin is still there. As well as Shawn.
Big Dog would be over as fuck in the attitude era. No fat smelly smarks to ruin everything
Why would they push him when they were already mega pushing austin?
18+
>>1934132
>Push only 1 guy
0+, noone is that retarded to put all his eggs in one basket
>>1934142
They already did that with Cena
>>1934161
Cena was never mainstream until the "AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA" meme
>>1934161
Rollins is succeeding BECAUSE of the fans.
Roman is "succeeding" in spite of them.
Also, Rollins has clearly been positioned as a lesser star than Reigns at every opportunity.
>ib cash-in
>>1934172
>Seth literally been the crowd fave in every match he's ever had against Romannetty
>massively cheered for committing what should've been the biggest dick heel move of all-time
>>1934172
Yes, I'm sure people that aren't wrestling fans knew about Cena because of classics such as "The Marine". I mean it's not like his mega push was the reason they lost a lot of viewers after they were already losing viewers thanks to Haitch pushing himself to the moon
>>1934170
it's more that Vince has invested a lot more resources in Roman, because he's failing harder
one has to be the nemesis of the other
Rollins had a great heel turn in destroying the Shield, great cashing in and until then everything went right, no reason to invest resources further if it's working; however, by cashing in on Roman and Brock, with Roman being massively rejected, Rollins became the hero and WWE booked him as chickenshit heel, which didn't work at all
same thing happened after his return; he was super over, clearly the fan favourite and WWE still forced a heel turn
Roman's booking has damaged both Roman and Rollins
>tfw you'll never see Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock cutting savage promos on Ramen
why even watch wrestling anymore?
>>1934170
>Jasethyfag delusional that their guy is pushed """"less"""" than Roman
>>1934128
You had to be able to talk in the Attitude Era. Roman would've been eaten alive by the crowds and buried by Shawn and Austin immediately.
>>1934208
Remember when Rollins went literally years without eating a clean 1-vs.-1 pin?
Me neither.
>>1934422
The crowd still eats him alive.
Wrestlers don't, first because there aren't that many good promo cutters in WWE anymore, second because Vince doesn't allow anyone to bury his untalented favourite.
Kinda why the product sucks.
In the Attitude era there was real competition, not just WWF vs WCW but also among wrestlers. Now there's just a hierachy where some handpicked untalented dude buries everyone. Nepotism ruins everything.

WWE has some great promos in it, but they'll never be allowed to do so while their every word is scripted by dozens of writers and edited by an insane septuagenarian megalomaniac.
Wwe goes out of business in a year or two. The Monday night wars is hosted on tbs with David arquette and people can't stop talking about the main event at world war 3.
